Entry pleasant surprise
Nov 10 2009 05:29

Couldn't sleep last night so decided to get up early and go for a short run to work out the stiffness in my quads. I also wanted to try to run in the END OTG Environmentally Neutral Design), endoutdoor.com, shoes we had bought at the Lukes Locker on Labor Day after the race. We both like they way they looked and they were on clearance for $25. I had noticed that they looked like stability shoes with the built up on the inside arch. But they were tight so I took out the insoles and they really felt good - and light too!. So this morning I gave them a try and wow, they did feel good. No foot problems arose with the 2mi try out, not like the Nike Air Max Moto's which started to hurt in less than a mi. I'm going to continue to use these guys for awhile.

My Saucony Progrid Guide's are showing a lot of wear after only 215mi. I started wearing them at the same time as my Asic Gel Kayano 15's which aren't showing near the wear with 196 mi on them. May be time to retire the Saucony's and phase in the OTG's and Mizuno Alchemy's which I also bought at Luke's on Labor Day.

Good for you for getting out there for a short run! I'm giving myself rest time until Thursday, when I'll do a short run as well. I have two blisters on the sides of both my feet that are grateful I am not running right now ;) They are the only real damage I suffered, I guess.

It's almost that time of year again, too! The new shoes will be out soon and this year's models will go on sale! YAY! I think I may end up with another pair of Mizuno's - they've been great so far! My Brooks are coming to the end of their life now, too. I need a replacement!

I used a pair of Mizuno's for volleyball in high school, the whole team wore them. I know they are totally different from running shoes, but they were very comfortable, so hopefully your Mizuno's will be good for you too. I've only got a little over 100 miles in my Nike+ and they're still in great condition, so I've got to hang on to them for a while longer. Actually what I need to do is step up my training! :)
