Entry Moment of discouragement
Nov 11 2009 11:01

First off let me just say that I crack myself up. I truly have a "fat girls mentality" LOL! Man I got up this morning hungry. Of course I wanted to quit and just scrap the whole calorie counting thing because it is causing me to exercise control. Control means saying "no" to foods that you have to cut out or cut back on. It means that you can't just go all "live free and die hard with a donut in your hand" crazy! Oh yeah and that's just the place I would love to be right now. Death by donut. Cracked out on chocolate. Sniffing sugar lines like a mad woman. Am I giving you a vivid picture of my daily torture which only started 3 days ago? Seems like a lifetime. So needless to say I wanted to jump off the edge of the cliff and eat a brownie for breakfast. I didn't. I fought the urge and I had my weight control oatmeal and toast and water. OH Yum, reeeeeally compares to that chocolate brownie. (right)

If I can get through this week......uh hem....entire week, including Sunday. I will be on the right track and encouraged to fight some more. It feels like someone put me in a detox center and made me wear a straight jacket. My only noticeable difference is that my eyes aren't bugged out and bulging and looking for a victim I can take my frustration out on. Other than that I'm good.

I feel better already from writing. They say "sharing is caring". I usually say it's overrated but in this case I'll give sharing a 2 thumbs up!

Happy dieting!

Bobi

Don't be discouraged!

Hey Bobi-

Keep it up! You can do it. Try concentrating less on how you missed out on the brownie and more on how good it felt to not give in to temptation, and how proud of yourself you were for being strong and making the right decision. If you continue to make the healthy choices, you'll not only feel great about yourself for making those right decisions, but you eventually see results in your weight loss! It's WIN-WIN.

Keep up the great work, I know you can do it.

Thanks for the encouragement. It did actually feel better when I came into work and ate the right thing. So I will try to focus on making the right decisions. I know once the temptation is past, you feel good for getting through. From past experiences, when I gave into tempation it was never what I thought it would be and always ended up regretting.

Thanks for the support!
