P90X Yoga today

Today is Yoga...not sure about this one LOL I tried Yoga for Dummies DVD once and did not like it and could not do most of it so we shall see what today brings. I will edit later or post about it tomorrow. Missed in my guide that I was supposed to do ab ripper X yesterday so I will do that today too. Got to get the screens for the windows scrubbed today...before summer is here and gone! LOL, grass needs cut and of course golf tonight with g/f - DH has men's league. Weight lost week 1 ...0.6...sigh not very good - was hoping for 1 pound but really had trouble sticking to that 40% protein..I do think I could have lost more on that but it is not a natural way for me to eat...sigh..TRY harder this week. Calories are def NOT the issue..unless it's that I don't eat enough...hard to change how you eat naturally

That move from yesterday was called a Side -Tri-Rise - lay on R side, place R hand over L shoulder and L hand between armpit and chest. Push -up raising upper body off the ground ..HARD ...at least for me

Heard from DD yesterday - GS having a blast camping - was going fishing yesterday. She was on her way to her church - she's in charge of a huge yardsale they are having as a fundraiser. My other DD is in Raleigh NC for work.

Ha ha had to share this joke

A preacher woke up one Sunday morning and looked outside and saw it was a beautiful day. He decided to skip church and go play golf. So he called the junior pastor at his church and told him he was sick and couldn't give the sermon. The junior pastor told him not to worry, he would deliever the sermon.

The pastor drove about 40 miles away from town to avoid being spotted. As he was setting up his first drive on the first hole, Jesus leaned over to God in heaven and asked him, "Are you going to let him get away with this?"

God told Jesus not to worry He would handle it. Right as God said that, the preacher hit the drive of his life. The ball traveled all 450 feet to the green, bounced once and rolled into the hole. The preacher was estatic. Jesus asked "God, why would you let him do that?"

God said, "Because who is he gonna tell?"

The daily report LOL

ahhh yesterday it was so warm - well for here LOL almost 50 degrees - normally Wed is my day off exercise but I needed fresh air so I bundled up and went walking after school. It was soooo nice to get some fresh air! 10, 606 steps yesterday - first time in a while I've hit my goal of 10,000 - it's so hard in the winter even with the gym. So ready for spring. Had DH take the lawn mower in to get it serviced so "Bon, Queen of Mowing" will be ready as soon as the snow melts LOL

Stats for yesterday: Nutriton Grade A- Calories 1211

It's becoming easier to get the protein in...I just hope it changes the dumb scale! Weight lifting today after work - maybe cardio - we'll see how the knees are feeling.

My poor DH is still hurting. MRI was yesterday - no reporrt yet.

It's a heat wave in PA

It's currently 54 degrees and sunny in central PA!! WOW if it wasn't for the foot of snow still on the ground I could play golf! The plan for today is to go home and do Jillian then make the eggplant parmigiana from Cooking Light - so far I have tried 3 of their recipes and like them.

DH was some better yesterday -actually got thru the day without pain meds So hopefully he will continue to improve. Too early to tell about the cortisone shots as they ache from the shot itself for a day or two.

Oh yea and that chick who lifted the 45pound weight plate at the gym with just her finger tips and seemingly effortlessly... just as I thought she is half my age! She grew up on a farm and is just plain strong...must be from lifting hay bales!

Logging and just trying to make good choices food wise. Yesterdays stats Nutrition Grade A- Calories 1167

This seems hopeless and I feel totally defeated

So everyone was waiting for good news but there is none at least as far as weight loss is concerned. Wt last Sat. 124.4 Wt. today 124.8 I can't improve my stats much more than I did this week and I exercised every day this week - gym 3x for 50 min of lifting and 30 min of cardio, the other 2 days 30 min of cardio and push-ups. I really think this is just a hopeless cause...all I got out of it was achy knees from probably too much cardio and a weight gain

My nutrition report from the past 7 days Nutrition Grade A

Fat - 27.9% (279 grams)
Protein - 24.4% (549 grams)
Carbohydrates - 47.7% (1,072 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0% (10 grams)
Other - 0.0%

Daily Calorie Intake - 1,273 cals somehow I gained 0.4 on these calories?????
Daily Sodium Intake - 1,575 mg
Daily Sugar Intake - 87 grams The higher sugar is fruit and skim milk I even gave up my dark chocolate some days
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 109 mg
Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 11 grams
Daily Fiber Intake - 21 grams this is without my supplement

I just don't understand why I can't even lose a half pound and actually gained doing 1273 calories a day. I tried the zig zag this week so here are the calories:

2/1-1180 2/2 -1416 2/3 - 1172 2/4-1491 2/5- 1181 2/6- 1286 2/7- 1184

I should have stayed off the scale because it totally ruined my day...I feel soooo discouraged and bummed. Oh yea and I measured too NO CHANGE there either

Oh brother - you know you're old when it's jeans day at work and you FORGET!!!!!! Grrrr - LOL totally forgot it was Friday and we can wear jeans. You can definitely tell I am not a morning person!

My stats so far this month Nutrition Grade A-

Fat - 26.9% (689 grams)
Protein - 21.4% (1,235 grams)
Carbohydrates - 50.1% (2,888 grams)
Alcohol - 1.6% (53 grams)
Other - 0.0%

Daily Calorie Intake - 1,247 cals
Daily Sodium Intake - 1,481 mg
Daily Sugar Intake - 83 grams
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 114 mg
Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 11 grams
Daily Fiber Intake - 18 grams

While these don't look bad I haven't lost an ounce or really any inches to speak of either

Calories burned last 18 days = 30,854 (sed rate of 1450 + exercise cal 4,754)

Calories eaten for past 18 days = 22,448

For a deficit of 8,406which should be at least a 2lb loss ...maybe even 1 if the CC calories burner is a little off. I HAVE LOST NO WEIGHT. Truly ppl I am open to suggestions if anyone has any answers. Maybe I just don't burn 1450 at a sed rate and then the question is should I cut my calories down?? Maybe I just don't need the recommended CC of 1200?? I work out 5 days a week so I can't do more there and I can't up the intensity because of the arthritis in my knees.

My DH finally got back to the gym yesterday - so I did bench presses - 3 sets 40,50 and 60 pounds! I impressed myself LOL since when I started on them I couldn't even lift the bar and this time I did 60 pounds x 7 reps! Might seem light to some but it's all relative to where I started at! LOL

Still doing the hundred push-up challenge - I'm on week 2 and today will be day 2 - wish me luck LOL I'm a little sore from the gym yesterday. Hope I can make it thru the 5 sets

Going out to dinner tonight with DH for my birthday and then again tomorrow with my girlfriends - will def have to exercise before I go so I can eat!! and of course have a glass of wine.

So cold that I get the day off!

Well I have the day off - woke up to a temp of 1 on our thermometer but we are to get winds and a wind chill of -21! Right now I am savoring my morning coffee and reading journals! Plan for the day - get to the gym since I took a rest day yesterday!!! .. LOL maybe get to cutting out that table runner that I bought the fabric last yearPut beef tips in the crock pot to make beef stroganof for dinner. I think that is something that GS will eat. I'll fill up on a big salad so I don't eat too many noodles! LOL

My GS is coming for the weekend YEAH! We will be taking him to our other GS's b-day party on Sat. - today he is 5 years old. He ran a temp this week and was congested but temp is gone so he is still coming. I'm glad ...I miss him!

Braved the scale yesterday ... I know I know I said I was staying off LOL - but I did it anyways - down 1 pound of the 3 that I had mysteriously found. Stats are still looking good so eventually I hope it will show up on the darn scale. - if not there is little else I can do. Might take measurements today and compare but clothes are NOT hanging on me LOL so I don't know if the results will be too thrilling. Trying to remember our motto - FIT AND HEALTHY! STRONG AND LEAN...my arms looking like Jillian's!!!

Today will be day 3 of the push-up challenge. I'm doing the middle column and hoping I can keep it up. Have to do up to 10 today so we'll see... If I can't complete it I will stay on day 3 until I can! I saw a guy in someone's journal that was doing the same column as me - he is stuck on day 3 soooo maybe I am stronger than I think!

I am open to suggestions if anyone has any! I can't see where I am doing anything wrong?? Other than that I need a new attitude(accept that I just can't lose weight) and a new metabolism ...do they sell those at Walmart??!!

I know , I know fit and healthy .. which I am grateful that I am fit and healthy.... but I also weigh almost 10 pounds more than I would like to (7 pounds over my lifetime high - well that is excluding pregnancy!)

So very frustrating to be working hard, eating right, exercising and not see any results

Rant over... plan for today... day 2 of the push-up challenge. I hope I can complete it - I am a little sore around my shoulder blades and up in my traps - don't know if that is from lifting at the gym yesterday or day 1 of the push-up challenge LOL Knees are aching today so if I do any cardio it will be simply walking on the treadmill - no Jillian and her jumping jacks! We'll see, I may have to adapt the cardio part of her DVD but then some days my knees just ache anyways

We're in a deep freeze - temp this am with wind chill was -9 brrrrr and Friday the high of the day is supposed to be 6! Can I come live with someone where it is warm??!! LOL

Hot sausage soup

96 oz chicken broth

1 pkg chopped spinach

2 12oz cans diced tomatoes

1 can Navy beans

1 pound of turkey hot sausage

1 tsp basil, 2 Tbsp olive oil

1 med onion , chopped

Brown sausage and onion till cooked, drain on paper towels. Add all other ingredients to soup pot then add browned sausage and simmer. (I usually simmer mine a few hours). About 30min before serving toss in a few handfuls of orzo (I usually do about 4)

Original recipe called for 2Tbsp chopped jalapenos but that was tooo spicy for me and also called for 2lb sausage but I didn't like that much meat in it.

Orange Wedding salad

2 small pkg tapioca pudding (the dry package of the kind you cook)

1 3oz sugar free orange jello

3c water

8oz Lite cool whip

2 cans mandarin oranges, drained

Combine first 3 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. CHill overnight. Beat mixture with a fork until mixed , fold in whipped topping and oranges

Very discouraged...

Ok so I worked out every day this week ( gym 3x for an hour and a half, shoveled snow for 1 hr and did Jillian x1 plus walked on the treadmill) and really watched my calorie intake and reduced eating processed foods and what did it get me ...a 2 pound weight gain since last saturday GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Here are my stats for the 5 days this week

Fat - 28.4% (204 grams)
Protein - 19.9% (322 grams)
Carbohydrates - 49.5% (799 grams)
Alcohol - 2.2% (20 grams)
Other - 0.0%

Daily Calorie Intake - 1,240 cals
Daily Sodium Intake - 1,835 mg
Daily Sugar Intake - 80 grams
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 74 mg
Daily Saturated Fat Intake - 10 grams
Daily Fiber Intake - 17 gram

A little low in protein but still should NOT account for a 2 pound gain. I DO NOT know what to do differently and actually feel like just giving up but I'm afraid of gaining more. It's very disheartening...

Nutrition Grade

I know there is more to life than what I weigh but I also know if that scale number gets too high my clothes will NOT fit

Snowing like crazy here an inch an hour - might bundle up later and walk to town, have a glass of wine and walk home. Fire in the firplace - going to go work on golf seatcovers and get them finished up then start table runner I bought the fabric a year ago! LOL

AND somehow try to stop thinking about all the work I put into doing all the "right" things this week to NO avail.....
