Back after several months of gaining. Starting over again. For the past 2 days have kept to about 1200 calories. Bought a bicycle and will start riding as soon as it warms just a bit more. My Spring flowers were stunning, daffodils, hyacinth, crocus, and tulips--ordinary but beautiful. Planning for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary a surprise party with my brother. My mom called the other night and told me not to do anything for their anniversary because she and my dad are taking a trip. Little does she know the party is planned for the following weekend. I just said, "sure, Mom, no problem." Teehee...
I am looking forward to reading everyone's journals. So far, I just read Clairelaine's and you are doing so wonderfully and so close to your goal!!
Thanks! We're here to support you. We've all been there, you know? I was surprised at how much I can eat and still lose, after years of undereating and getting nowhere. Make sure you use the Burn Meter tool to figure out your average daily burn, then deduct 500 calories from that to lose a pound a week. I deduct only 250, and I'm losing at a slow, steady rate of 2 pounds a month, and it's staying off. What was happening to me is, I'd starve myself at 1200 cal, then break down and eat too much. It's better for me to eat more and lose consistantly. I don't care how long it takes. I hope you find something that will work for you.

I'm so glad you're back. Oddly enough I just saw your name in my friends list the other day and checked your profile to see if you were still around. The surprise party sounds like a great idea! I sort of hunkered down and maintained over winter but I'm getting back to it now. I've joined the walk 75 miles in April challenge too. That is really making me get moving! |
Hope all is fine with you. And great to have you back. I hope you are able to continue on with a downward spiral of weight loss. Just keep at it. Take care and God Bless. |
So glad you are back. As clairelaine said make sure you check the burn meter and deduct about 500 from that. I've been really surprised at just how much I can eat when I make wise choices (ie I need to stay away from the chocolates!) and get in a little exercise. I've joined the bike across the country challenge so have been logging my miles on my exercise bike. I hope to get my bike fixed soon and actually get outside to enjoy the spring. Feel free to join us on the challenge. There's no time frame just having a goal to help keep us motivated and a place to chat. |
Welcome back! I've missed you and am so glad you've come back! We've all had our "away" times. I've been struggling lately loggin in to cc myself (can only seem to get on once per week) but every effort is always rewarded. I envy your beautiful Spring flowers. We still have the odd small drift of snow here and there but my hyacinths, daffodils, tulips and snowdrops are showing off anyway. After a really long Winter, Spring has finally come! |
I forgot to tell you. I had to change my user name when cc updated it's site a while back. You know me as lornajean! I had to change my name to something so I picked my dog's name! |
good to have you back at it... I agree with the burn meter advice, make sure that you don't take it too low. You won't lose anything if you go too low. Take care and let use know if we can help you with anything. |
Seeing your nice comments has made me realize how much I missed CC while I was away! I did bump my calories up to 1700 yesterday and today aiming for 1500-1600. Still a little hungry but much more manageable. |
it's great to see you back again! congrats on the decision. :D good luck! |
