I have not logged in my journal for quite some time. It was so much easier keeping up over the summer (I'm a teacher). I ate better, I exerciser more, it was light until 9 at night, it was warm enough to exercise outside. Now we have 2 feet of snow outside and it is 14 degrees (-4 degrees with the windchill). Well anyways I am going to post my calories each day for the past month. What should I change? I know I need more protein. How does everyone else get more protein in on the days that you do not cook for yourself? Like yesterday, we were busy and I made, mac n cheese, corn, & rolls for the family. The week that my calories were really low, I had the stomach FLU !!! Thanks! Brenda

Well, I got on the scale and it said 146.8 !!! I have been 147.8-149.8 on and off for the past month. I hope this means that I am going to start losing again :-) I have been trying to exercise more. I usually make it to the gym 3 to 4 days a week. I ride the stationary bike for 30 minutes, the elliptical for 30 min. and the the bike again for 30 minutes. I bring a magazine that I have not had time to read. I try to walk/jog once or twice a week for an hour. It is getting harder to get out there. It is getting colder and it is getting dark at 7pm already. I still have not found time to add strength training but I do use small weight, push ups and sit up once a week while I am watching TV. I guess I should start doing that more than once a week :-)
I love the recipe analysis tool. I have been putting my recipes in so that I am getting an accuate calorie count.
A teacher and I have been trading clothes which is making life so much easier. All my pants that are a size 16 or larger are gone! I am still wearing size 10, 12, and 14. I is so weird that I can wear all three. Right now most 10s are tight, all 12 fit, and most 14 are alittle big.
I am alittle nervous about entering the holiday season. I do not want to gain any of the weight back. I think I am going to have the kids hide their halloween candy. Out of sight out of mind, right? All of the eating around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, ugghh! We need to plan our menus now, find low cal, healthy alternative to stuffing, yams, pie, rolls, etc. Ok, that it going to be my next plan. Work on my Thanksgiving menu. If I come up with a menu, I'll add it to the forums.

I am in a plateau, My weight was 148.4 this morning. I have been drinking more coffee since I started back to school (I am a preschool director). I do drink 100 ounces of water a day still. The children activities at night (football, swim lessons, scouts, band, chorus, etc) are making it harder for me to find time to exercise. My eating has changed alittle since I am now packing my lunch and snacks.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to be happy to just maintain my weight loss for the next few months and then try to continue to lose after the holidays.
Clothes !!! I really have to go thru my clothes and get rid of everything that is a size 16 or larger. One of my teachers just gave me a bag of 10 and 12 size clothes. It felt weird to actual fit into the clothes that I was wearing. Almost everything I have is big on me.
I have been so tired!!! I have had a cold since preschool started. I cannot wait until I can stop blowing my nose :-)
Did I rant enough today :-))) I know I am not alone in plateau land. I hope we all can get past our plateaus!!!

I finally broke the 150s and now I am in the 140s club! I cannot even remember the last time I was 149 pounds. It was probably after my first child was born. She is 11 years old now :-) 29 pounds lost! I would still like to lose 20 more pounds, but I do not mind if it comes off slowly. I just want to work hard to keep the weight I've lost off. I went back to work last week (preschool director) and all of the teachers were commenting on how much weight I lost. It felt great!

At the Outback steakhouse I ordered the steak & vegtable grillers with no butter or glazes, with a sweet potato, with all of the topppings on the side (instead of rice). I ordered the house salad (without croutons and cheese) with fat free tangy tomato dressing. I did have two small slices of bread. If I calculated correctly, the totals are below :-) I think I am finally learning how to order what I am allowed to eat :-)

Two of my friends and all of our children are off to the beach. Mostly we will sit and gab but we do go for an hour walk along the beach to find beach glass, and we walk for an hour in the water. I started exercising and eating healthy and they both joined me. They are my exercise buddy now :-) We are all getting healthy together.
We are all nervous about back to school time. Two of us are teachers and one is starting a new full time job soon. How do we take care of the kids, house, work, eat healthy and exercise too? It is not as hard with the weather nice and late daylight hours but when winter comes and it gets dark earlier, I hope we continue to exercise as much as we are now.

Aug 14th: Height: 5'2", Weight: 154.5 lbs, Medium frame, Thighs: 23 ", Hips: 41.5", Waist: 33.5", Bust: 39" , Upper arm: 12" , a few more inches gone.
I went out and saw my neighbor yesterday and she commented on how good I looked :-) The weight loss has slowed but I am feeling better and better about body everyday. I'll post another picture when I hit 30 pounds lost.
Someone asked how many calories are you eating everyday. I thought 1300-1400 but when I actually added up my calories from the past 30 days and then divided that number by 30 it was 1700 calories a day. I was shocked. I was eating 1300-1500 during the week but I was 2400 on weekends eating out, so now I am trying to get a handle on my eating out days.

Well, yesterday was bad. It was my son's 9th birthday and all of my family came over to the house. We made hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, baked beans, macaroni salad, pretzels, and cheetos. I did ok with that but after everyone left, I could not stop eating. I had another piece of cake and ice cream, another piece of chocolate that someone brought, more cheetos, etc, etc, etc. I was probably at 3000 calories for the day with no exercise. I am usually so good because I do not bring bad food in the house, but if it is there I cannot leave it alone, so of course I am up another pound :-(
Ok, today is a new day. My goals for the week is to lose the weight I gained back, drink plenty of water, do some cardio everyday, and eat 1300-1400 calories everyday, and do better this weekend!
