Entry need a new game plan

I was told Wednesday that I needed to work on my "image", specifically my weight. That kinda sucked hearing it and the thing is i was just talking to my friend about that (not so much my image, but my weight) and then to have another person say something did not make me feel good. I just have to face the facts that I HAVE to change some things in my diet because obviously what i'm doing is not working. I want my uniforms to get back baggy and loose and not have to shop for my uniforms online because they don't have my size in the store. I want to feel normal size for my occupation and although i'll probably still be bigger than most folks (cause that's just my body frame) i'll be okay with that cause i look good in my uniform and i'm not the last person at PT and folks are not saying that i don't present a good military image.

So i've lost a few pounds and now i'm going to tweak my diet for the next two weeks with a variety of Slim Fast shakes and a fruit for breakfast, a lean cuisine or a homemade salad for dinner and probably the same for dinner. i'm trying to lower my calories but hopefully these things will still keep me full and i won't feel as if i haven't ate enough. the thing for me is i HAVE to get things i actually like and will eat and not get bored and decide i don't want it anymore. Shit, if being told i need to work on my image isn't enough then i honestly don't know what is anymore...

hey, how's your weight going so far?  I've been gone for months and now i'm back..this time for good!!!!  I gained so much weight while in school, but now that semester's over i can finally focus on me!  Don't worry, i knew what it was like being in the military and having to PT and get taped!  it sucks, but it keeps you on check with your weight.  Once you leave the military, your on your own on having to stay healthy.  And trust, that sucks more!!!  Just eat healthier and work out everyday.  You'll get there.

Hey there =D

I have no idea what military life is like. Or how and if you have time to make your own meals. I thought I would leave a comment because around 6 months ago, I was where you are at now.

I started off trying to eat healthily, and over the last 6 months have learned a lot about food. I too thought that slim fast like products could help me and they can but trust me, try and make your own meals, know exactly what goes in, knowing the GI (glycemic index), vitamin, and macro nutrients of your foods really makes a difference.

At first it seems a lot of hard work, but I learned that if it has more than 5 ingredients it's probably processed to the point of not being healthy anymore, oh and they hide sugar and other crap it those long, long lists...

My tips: Count calories, find a way you love to work out, try and be truthful with yourself (I lied to myself all the time and it helped me none), set mini goals, read up on healthy living and eating, watch the biggest looser for motivation, use this site. Most important it's not a diet, it's a change in life style, it has to be something you can do for the rest of your life.

All of my best wishes to you on your journey =D
