Are they serious??? 1300 calories? I want a lifestyle change not a diet persay. I already do to bed hungry. I can't imagine taking that much food out of my diet and still not be hungry. I am already disenchanted but I am going to try and faithfully log my food for a week to really see what I am eating.
I realized after taking family pictures that my weight was too high! As if my pants being too snug wasn't a clue! I think that I am going to work on 1500 calories first and see how I do. Until my sprained ankle heals there isn't a lot of exercises I can do that will really help my increase my calorie burn.
So frustrated but motivated. Want to wear size 6 again.
1300 calories does NOT mean you have to "take that much food" out of your diet. I eat a very balanced/very filling days worth of food eating between 1300-1500 everyday. I do not know your stats or anything - but 1300 calories can be stretched a long way if you are eating the right things (i.e. 100 calories of vegetables is much more filling than a 100-cal pack). So you might not have to change quantity as much as you have to change quality/content of your diet. You have already made the first step towards your size 6 by joining CC and starting a journal. |
Make vegetables and whole grains the core of your diet. Veggies fill you up with few calories and they are full of vitamins. Whole grains are high in fiber content which make you feel satisfied with fewer calories. Also, try to eat 6 small meals a day with equal portions, spread 2 to 3 hours apart. This will speed up your metabolism without storing fat. Since your target is 1500 a day, try to eat 250 calories per meal. If you eat too much at once, you might reach 1500 early and will get hungry later in the day. I hope this helps, and good luck. |
Thanks for the encouragement. I already eat only whole grain food but I definitely need to add more veggies to my everyday eating habits. Eating small meals throughout the day as been my standard for awhile now. But like you both said, it's probably my choices. I will try to reach 250 for every meal and see how it goes. Thanks again for the great advice! |
