Quads are killing me today. I am very sore. Ran 5 miles at 10mph pace and soon after I got home felt the worst pain in my stomach - tummy bloat, and sensation of loose, watery bowels but without any "repercussions" (sorry if TMI). This isn't the first time I've felt this way digestion-wise, and I'm wondering if it is related to my training.
The bad tummy feeling only subsided a while after dinner - had lots of good protein (most of a large grilled on-the-bone chicken breast), veggies (steamed broccoli & carrots, balsamic roasted brussel sprouts) and a piece of rosemary bread. I think I need to watch my post-workout nutrition much more closely if I want to keep training this hard. A good indication of this is that I felt MUCH better after two pieces of dark chocolate. I think body definitely needed the fat & protein.
