Entry Will it just stop raining? Pleeeease?

Gross weather today.  Meaning that once I'm finally back to my old energetic self, I can't go out for a run because it's pouring.  I mean, it's not just drizzling - drizzle would be fine.  Heck, I sweat more than the drizzle.  But it's raining in such a constant pour that I would be drenched 1/2 mile into my run.  It sucks.

So, I went downstairs and did some HIIT.

On the upside, I am feeling so much better after my rest days.  Such an incredible difference.  I rested, ate, and while I wasn't completely sedentary, I gave my quads a good break to recover.

Here's to hoping rain stops by morning so I can finally run for once this week.

Not much more is going on in my life.  Work is dull and boring.  Plus, I haven't gotten any new translations, but I'm trying.  I just wish business would pick up so I wouldn't have to worry about the stupid office job.

Thank you for the comments in my journal.  What is it like in your part of the world?  I've never been to the Eastern seaboard.  We had our first snow fall today- I am delighted to say that it was just a tickle and not a slap.  You translate?  Interesting.  I admire your being able to run.  The freedom.

I love it here.  I've lived in Baltimore for the past year, since my marriage, but I used to be in the outskirts of DC.  It's beautiful in the Spring, and hot and muggy in the Summer.  Oh, and as you can tell from my entry, the fall is rainy!  Grr.

Oh, to see some snow!  I love snowy winters - we don't get enough here in Maryland; you have to go to the mountains in PA to see more.

Yes, I am a translator & interpreter for Spanish & Portuguese.  I interpret for the schools & medical system.  I translate freelance.  I have just branched out to the translation business, though, and it is slow as molasses.  This means that whenever there is work to be had, I take it: I can never know when it'll come again!  Of course, I have an office job to make ends meet, which I quite dread.  I'm not an office person (never have been - hence the freelancing) so I seriously hope that business takes off!

And you are right, running is incredibly empowering.  I think the reason I like it so much is that it makes me feel invincible and strong :) Well, and it also helps clear my head and get rid of any frustrations.  I get cranky when I can't run!

Your answer makes me more curious- do you have parks to run in?  What kinds of trees are common?  Common birds?  I forget  if Baltimore is on water- I could get un-lazy and look it up, I suppose!  And then your comments on Moms- I realized while I was engrossed in writing my last story, that again I had a Mom who was not available to the story's character.  This seems to be a common theme for me.  I have been alternatively close to my Mom and alternatively distant- my fault but still- when I was kid I hated school.  Refused to go.  Ended up with my Mom giving me over to the courts and me in a foster home. for a year or so.  Not nice.  Later we had other issues where she emotionally turned on me when I really needed her.  Maybe this is why we have had our Buddy moments and now one of my sisters has talked her into moving to the rear end of Missouri so this could be it- I hate writing this- Mom is turning 88.  How often am I going to be able to afford to fly out to her house and all the hell there is involved in packing up my life for such trips?  Guess I am the long winded one here!  Interesting about your freelance work.  You sound quite nice and highly intelligent.
