Entry no beef--i'm a vegetarian
May 13 2009 12:37

so...i took the 30 day vegetarian challenge at www.goveg.com.  let's see how this plays out.  i haven't eaten any meat this week anyway, so i'm already 3 days into it and going strong.

i just found out that burger king has a veggie burger and i think that is AWESOME! i'll be having one for dinner tonight, thanks!

i've been to the gym every night this week, and i'll be going tonight after work, then heading to my softball game at 8:30.

i'm de.ter.min.ed.

Entry me and my wagon.
May 11 2009 15:26

i've officially fallen OFF the wagon...AGAIN.  i'm TRYING to make time for the gym, and that has been the hardest part of the whole ordeal.  i have no problem eating healthy.  i just have too many things scheduled in one week and in one day to always be able to fit the gym into the routine.

every time i make plans to go to the gym, things have come up that cannot be rescheduled and are very important.  school is taking up the majority of my time these days.  even right now, when i thought i'd be getting a break from school becuase i have "summer break" until the summer semester starts right back up on the 19th, i've been dealing with getting papers filed and forms filled out and having to take off of work or come into work late because i have to physically GO TO the school and deliver them myself.  then all the time that i miss from work, has to be made up, so i'm working through lunches when i could usually be spending my lunch break at the gym.  i play softball on wednesdays and go to school tuesdays and thursdays, and work monday-friday from 8-5.  it's hard to fit the gym into those hours, but i'm TRYING.

tonight i'm going to a water aerobics class at the gym, and it lasts an hour.  i'll probably do some cardio before the class begins.

i hope to be able to get my life in order so that i can start going on my lunch breaks and take advantage of my membership that i'm PAYING for.

woe is me.

Entry 8:42
Mar 02 2009 12:54

i ran an 8:42 mile over the weekend in the lexington's race against hunger.  i was JACKED.  my goal was to run under 10:00, and i did that...

i have another race this weekend. [march for meals] it's a 3 mile race.  i never run these races to WIN them by finishing first.  i run them because they're for a good cause and i enjoy knowing that i'm doing something good for someone else.

i've been going to the gym several times a week.  life is so busy that i never get to spend more than an hour or so at the gym, so i've just decided i'm going to have to step up my workout routine to work twice as hard.

i haven't lost any weight, but i can see definition in my muscles which is all i really want to accomplish anyway.

goals:
no fast food
work out at least 4-5 times a week
run, and run hard
get organized at home and with school work
don't let negativity bring me down
don't expect anything from people
just do me.

Entry hola, bishes.

so.
i've been doing SOOOOO good with all of my resolutions.  the ony one that is slipping through the cracks is cracking down on cussing.  my vocabulary is just so....CREATIVE and i find it very boring without those wonderful adjectives and nouns.

i went to the gym 5 out of 7 days last week and i'm headed there this afternoon after work.  i've been eating good and trying really hard to limit anything that is not "good" in my diet.  i've only had one coke in two weeks which is REMARKABLE considering i usually drink one a day.  =)

i'm determined to reach my goals...which are not to lose any weight per se, but to tone my body and see some definition...which i'm already seeing in my legs.  i'm aiming for this in my abs the most and i know that in due time, it'll come.  i can't expect everything to shape up in one week.  i hope to see some results within a month or so.

so.  that's it.

holla.

Entry well. well. well.
Dec 08 2008 10:01

it's been a hot minute.  i haven't had a chance to write here [[because i'm too busy doing NOTHING on myspace! =)]]  i haven't gained any weight, but i haven't been active enough.

my kid is sick, and i was starting to bum myself out thinking i couldn't go to the gym tonight, until i remembered that i have shorts in my car, and i wore my gym sneakers to work today...so i CAN go to the gym on my lunch break.
[[the kid is at home with the spouse while i work.]]

i haven't been to the gym in about a week and a half, but i'm back on track today.  i packed healthy foods...lots and lots of fruits and veggies for lunch, and now that i get to go to the gym...i'm PUMPED. oh yeah, brother.

well.  i might report back in after my gym journey.

CHOLLA.

Entry so far, so good.
Nov 11 2008 09:21

i stuck to my goals yesterday.
[[woop woop]]

my goals for yesterday were:
--eat breakfast.
--go to the gym.
--be in bed before 10:00

so.  i scooped up my sidekick [[tha kid.]] and we hit the gym.  i burned 100 calories on the elliptical and jumped off.  i walked around the track twice, and then i ran 6 laps which equals 1/2 mile.  i walked another lap to cool down.  then i went downstairs to do some weights and i just did a few sets on the machines that work my quads.  the gym was really crowded and i didn't feel like waiting around to use the other machines, so i dipped.

besides, i haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks.  i didn't want to over-do it on the first night back.  i'm going back tonight after i pick up my binkey baby from preschool.  [[hers turned four over the weekend, by the way.]]  i think SHE gets more excited about going to the gym than i do.  she LOVES the daycare center there because they have some RAD dress-up stuff that she doesn't have at home. [[i guess having EVERY disney princess DRESS isn't enough...she needs the medieval dresses too.]]

i ate a banana for breakfast. [[didn't have time for the oatmeal, but i will later.]]
for lunch, i have a ham and swiss sandwich on wheat with no mayo or mustard. i also packed a snack size ziploc bag of watermelon, pineapple, and grapes, and a side of steamed peas.
for a snack this afternoon, i'll have that bowl of oatmeal from breakfast and an orange.

i'm SOOOOO excited about dinner.  i've been craving these cabbage rolls all week, and i'm going to whip 'em up tonight.  i'm subbing the ground beef with ground turkey and white rice with brown.  i anticipate that these will be SUPER tasty.  [[as rachel ray would say..."YUMM-O."]]

tomorrow night, i'm going to bake stuffed bell peppers with ground turkey and brown rice.  ooooh snap.  slammalammin.

on a lighter note.  my kid told me that she looked like the farmer in the dell this morning before she went to school because i made her wear her sperry's.  i just don't understand.  sperry's are CUTE.  she hates them...but i'm jealous.  shit.  i want a freaking pair of sperry's.  no other kid in her preschool has sperry's.  they all wear those stupid light up shoes with characters on the side...like nemo, cars, princesses...etc.  nah, son.  sammi doesn't do characters.  she'll just have to get over that and wear the sperry's...and keep it pushin'.

besides.  she's FOUR.  what 4 year old makes analogies about her attire vs. farmer in the dell?  genius.  i'm telling you.  she's a freaking GENIUS.

alrighty.  i'm off to do some work.

CHOLLA.

Entry back on tha grind.
Nov 10 2008 13:30

i've fallen off, but today i'm hitting the gym up for the first time in three weeks.  i haven't gained any weight, but i haven't exercised.

i packed a pretty sensible breakfast/lunch/snack for today, so that's a plus.  i had a banana for breakfast and planned on eating a bowl of special k, but i didn't have the time, so i'll probably eat that this afternoon.

i had a ham and swiss sandwich with no condiments on wheat bread for lunch with a small cup of coleslaw.

i also have an apple and an orange for later today too.

dinner will probably be leftovers...which was turkey tenderloin, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potatoes.

i am going to do some weights at the gym and then run.
i can't WAIT to run.  i haven't done it in so long...

so, i'm back, bitches.

Entry so, it's official.
Sep 29 2008 11:11

i think i'm pretty much done posting with the forum junkies.
i will post with the YCC's from time to time, but my forum days are pretty much over.  i think it's a waste of time and really has nothing to do with why i joined this site in the first place...and it makes me want to discontinue my membership because people are just ignorant...and while we should be uplifting each other, there are certain people [[ahem-clearing my throat and avoiding calling names]] who insist on starting SHIT with people...just because they're sitting behind a computer screen and know that there is no way for the people they're talking to...to punch their eyes out.
JERKS.

so.  this weekend.  ummm.  yeah.  friday night, i had sushi.  i had this slamming new roll called a "DJ roll".  oh man.  it was lobster and crab on the inside and topped with sliced mango on the top.  <---delicioso.
i also had a muy bueno roll.  it had shrimp tempura, cucumber, spicy mayo, avocado...and it was topped with crab.  wowza.  it was great.
we spent $100 on sushi.

saturday...i had pizza.  it was good...but so bad, because i ate way more than i should have.  [[pepperoni, mushroom, tomato]]

yesterday was a killa.

i got up and cooked breakfast:  turkey bacon, toasted whole grain english muffins with jelly, eggs overeasy, and hashbrown potatoes.

lunch:  my dad cooked a roast in the crock-pot and i went to his house for lunch.  i skipped on the meat, but had a load of rice with the gravy from the roast, carrots, potatoes, and onions.  squash.  and apple salad...which you would THINK is good for you, but with all the mayo i saw my stepmother add to it...i don't think it really was.

then there was dinner:  i ate 3 pimento cheese sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, nuts, a tomato, two glasses of milk, and bleu cheese and buffalo sauce potato chips.

i skipped out on the gym saturday AND sunday.

i'm not going to beat myself up about it.
geesh.
my stomach sure does hurt.

i have a date with GYM tonight.
we'll make up and play nice.

CHOLLA.

Entry why art thou sore?
Sep 26 2008 09:18

....because i haven't worked my arm muscles until yesterday at the gym.  after going to the gym for a week, today is the FIRST day that i've been sore afterwards.  my legs are apparently very strong, so i need to up the weights if i want to feel anything.  i figured doing 90 lb weights on my legs would bring some soreness after 4 sets of 10 on each machine...but i got nothing.

my little scrawny arms are sore after doing 45-60 lb. weights...with only 8 reps per set...and i did 3 sets.

i'm going back to the gym tomorrow.
my most important goal right now is getting some definition in my legs and building speed so that when i'm running the bases during softball games, i can be a speed demon.

i'm considering signing up for a race october 11.  it's 3 miles.  i want to beat my 33:15 time...and considering it's cooled down, i think i can do it.  especially since i've been running everyday of the week for the past week.  if i keep it up, i will be more than ready for the race.

today...i will have SUSHI.  maybe even for lunch and dinner.  the kidd wants to eat sushi tonight.  [[yes, my three year old loves sushi too]]  hubby and i have a lunch-date, but i haven't decided where to go.  i could go for sushi twice in one day.

alrighty.  i'm off to work now.

cholla.
