My new eating plan (making better decisions +moving more) is working.  I've lost nine pounds in two weeks.

I'm trying to learn to listen to my body's cues instead of plowing ahead and finishing everything in front of me.  I'm not going to stop eating the foods I love but I have to learn moderation and make the bad stuff the exception rather than the norm.

I'm also trying to move more.  I don't have two hours a day to spend in a gym but I'm trying to get more fun exercise.

I've been thinking about a friend who is on a 900 calorie weight loss plan to lose 100 pounds.  He doesn't have the energy for exercise.   He said the plan has been approved by his doctor and now he's actually used to eating such a small amount.  I'm seriously concerned for his health and the long term effects of such an extreme diet.   Are such extremes really necessary?
