Entry Back Again
Jun 28 2008 23:13

Wow, it's been a while.  Well in the last year I've spent so much time taking care of gpa I didn't have much time for myself.  Unfortunately my gpa just passed away on 06/02 so I figure now is a good time to get back into it.  I started back up on P90X two weeks ago but also started Tony Horton's 10 minute work outs for when I go back to work or am running short on time.  Hopefully this will be beneficial.  I've also joined another soccer team which is an all women's team so for some reason I definately have to run a lot more.  So that means I have at least 2 games a week.  It's a nice change of pace from working out at home.  I usually try to fit in an abs workout as well in the morning on those days.  I'm really in overdrive trying to burn off as much as possible since we are going to Hawaii in Sept.

If anyone has any good ideas on how to burn it off quicker let me know! :)

Entry Back on Track
May 02 2007 18:06

Well, I started back in with my healthy eating and working out on 04/22.  I have lost the 5 lbs that I gained over the time off.  Yipee!  I started the P90x with my husband and my sister.  Now that is a workout.  I'm not real fond of the Yoga portion of the workout but I assume it will be beneficial.  Maybe when I become stronger and more comfortable with the moves it will be better.  The cardio and kenpo kick butt.  I don't think that I have ever sweat that much!!!!

I have a soccer tournament this weekend.  I have at least 2 games on Sat and the 2 possibly 3 more on Sunday.  I'm soooo excited to play but not so excited about playing in the 98 degree weather.  It feels good to be back in the mix! :)

Entry I'm back
Apr 11 2007 09:25

Well a lot has happened in the last few months.  We did end up having my grandma move in with us but my grandpa had to stay in rehab after his pacemaker was put in.  My grandma only stayed with us a short time before she started experiencing many more health problems.  She passed away on March 24.  Since then my grandpa has moved in and we had to all fly back for her to be buried in Iowa.  My grandfather is pretty handicapped and needs full time assistance.  I decided to not get another job and he basically pays me to take care of him.  This is all so new to me.  I've never been a caregiver before (other than my own 2 children).  It's a lot of hard work but definately rewarding.  I think I'm stable enough now to get back into the game of working out and dieting.  Luckily I only gained 5 lbs since I stopped the program.  I really expected it to be worse with the way I have been eating. My husband has just ordered the P90x workout program so I may try that with him.  If it doesn't work for me I'll go back to the Slim in 6.  Either way I'm feeling motivated again and that is what counts.

Entry This weekend was a disaster
Jan 28 2007 19:20

Well this weekend has been horrible.  My parents had to put both of my grandparents in an assisted living home.  Devistating in itself it took a turn for the worse.  My grandma was in a rehab center from having a stroke and falling.  When my parents showed up to take them to their "new home" my grandma flipped out and slapped my mom and scratched her face.  We believe she may have dimentia.  She told us that she hates us all and wished my mother had never been born so that none of us would be in her life.  Many more hurtful things but for some reason my husband is the only one she will speak with right now.  We're all in for a long road ahead.  Needless to say I have been emotionally eating! :(  I haven't been able to get any SI6 in this weekend at all.  I did play a soccer game on Friday for 2 hours but that's it.  I hope to get back on track tomorrow.  I don't want to get so caught up in all this drama that I forget about what is best for me and my family (husband and kids).

Entry Day ended better!
Jan 25 2007 19:27

Well my day ended better than it started!  I was able to prepare dinner, eat, get my daughter to dance, do my RIU, pick my daughter up from dance, and complete dishes all before 7:30 pm.  Yipee!  My RIU went great tonight.  The alternating legs during the "all fours" butt workout helped tremedously!!!! Hopefully I will work up the strength to do as instructed but for now this feels much better!  I don't feel like I'm giving up while doing them.  I prepared Aspargus for dinner (trying new things since I don't like veggies) and they were pretty good.  My kids loved them.  I plan on trying artichokes this weekend.  We'll see how that goes.  That's all for tonight, have to help with homework and get ready for tomorrow morning!

Entry no workout for yesterday
Jan 25 2007 08:38

Well yesterday was my husband's birthday so he wanted to eat out for dinner.  I'm sure I could have lived without the mashed potatoes and gravy but nope I ate some anyway.  :(  By the time I got home and gave the kids their baths and helped with homework I was way too exhausted!  So no workout either.  My calorie intake was about 1600 including dinner so I suppose it wasn't too bad.  I am just really struggling to get the SI6 in every day!  It just seems that there is something else more important to do!  It's not a matter of wanting to do it because I do it's just finding the time to get it done.

I think I may just be having a bad day today.  I just need to finish out my day here at work and go home and prepare a great healthy dinner and really push in my workout tonight and maybe throw in an extra six pack workout at the end! :)

Entry getting there
Jan 24 2007 09:13

Well I'm still very motivated to do well but I'm at my plateau (140lbs) which is where I have not been able to get under in 7 years.  I did weigh myself the other day and it said 138 but the last two days it was at 140.  Today is my actual weigh in day (I'm trying to limit it to once a week at least for loggin purposes).  I just keep telling myself that you're too far in it now to give up.  Plus I almost feel accountable to all the CC friends and to stick with it.

I only consumed about 1200 cal yesterday and I did my RIU but I was very tired throughout the workout.  I was struggling with the squats which is usually a piece of cake for me.  My legs just felt tired.  I think I should've eaten a little something prior to.  I also forgot to take my multi vitamin so maybe that had something to do with it.  I think one thing I'm very proud of is since I have been logging all of my food on CC I have never had below a B on the analysis except for 1 day (which I didn't log for that day but I know it was probably bad:) ) I need to get more ideas for veggies though.  I'm sooooo picky so it's hard to find things that I like.

Entry Let it Snow!
Jan 21 2007 21:33

Well my soccer game got cancelled because of excessive rain! :(  Kind of bummed but then I just decided that I would do my SI6 instead.  After finishing up dinner I realized that it was no longer just raining outside it was snowing!!!!! It never snows here (only in the mountains!)  So of course I bundled up the kids and we all ran around in the snow.  Nothing was sticking but it was still fun.  I started my RIU when the kids came in screaming that the ground was COVERED in that white stuff they know nothing about.  So of course I have to get the bundled up again and take them outside to play in it!  We went up to the school by our house where there is grass and they were actually able to make a snowman!

Ok....seems silly to all of you who may be used to snow in the winter but not to us Arizonans! :)  Unfortunately I didn't finish my RIU but I figured this only happens once every 10 years if were lucky!  I'll get right back on track tomorrow.  I will post some pics of it if anyone is interested! ;)

Saturday is done!  Another late night!  Oh why do I torture myself like this!!!!  I'm glad I did it though.  Didn't eat so well today, well I did ok up until dinner.  I had fried chicken and no I didn't take the skin off! :(  I'm sure I'll still be ok, I felt horrible afterward not because I felt quilty just physically felt horrible.  It amazing how my body reacted to putting unhealthy things in it!

I have a soccer game tomorrow so I will probably not do my RIU.  I think 2 hours of rigorous running and cutting back and forth will do! :)

Entry The day is done
Jan 19 2007 18:36

Yeah it's Friday!  I just finished my RIU.  I definately didn't drink enough water today!  I started to get a cramp in my foot of all places!  I sort of felt it go up to my calf but luckly I finished my workout before it got too bad.  I'm going to drink some more water and eat a bananna; that usually helps!  I've been doing real good with the diet as well.  I've logged all of my food even when I have something not so good!  I think being too hard on myself for slipping here and there is not productive reaching my goal.  It only leads to discouragment and makes me question my dedication.  I know that I'm trying my absolute best and I'm seeing results.  I can't expect perfection, I just need to keep putting forth my best effort!

That's what I love so much about everyone on this forum!  They are all so encouraging even when we have bad days.  Whether it be an emotional bad day or a physical bad day the support is there.  Keep up all the great work everyone and keep pushing forward!
