Hah

One year ago I was 61; now I'm 64. FML. T_T Though I'll never give up, a late start is better than no start at all! This is a lifestyle change and I want to live my life differently than what I'm doing right now, body-wise. My last journal entry spoke of me setting my goal date in March 2009; guess what, I didn't reach that. Now I'm giving myself a much more realistic goal date: May 2010, 7 months from now. I only want a one-pound loss per week, nothing more. 30-pound loss in 30 weeks, hell yeah I can do this!

Food Dreams

Last night I had a few food-related dreams. I think it's my first time that I remember having multiple food dreams (or even any at all; I don't quite recall having food dreams before).

I dreamt I was cooking something with eggs, I remember cracking an egg perfectly and the other egg had a tiny piece of eggshell in it when I cracked it.

The second dream was me obsessively cleaning dishes by hand (dishwashers aren't popular in our country) in the kitchen with such gusto, I was quite proud of myself in the dream, haha.

I woke up at 11am (slept at 5am) to pee (I have been peeing really regularly nowadays, thanks to the excessive amounts of water I drink; I used to pee about 3 times a day, really unhealthy), then I weighed myself, got a shock because the scale showed 61kgs.

I thought it was a mistake (my scale isn't digital; can't afford one) and weighed 4 more times, but all showed 61kgs and 134/135lbs. I went back to bed, woke up at 3pm and weighed again, with the same results (61kgs).

Ouch. How could I gain a whole kg in less than a week with the only drastic change being lowing the calorie limit to about 1000? I think (and hope that) it's all water weight and not fat...

I sure hope the numbers don't keep rising, not gonna weigh myself for a few days and try again on Friday maybe. I have to see progress by then!

Day 2

My last meal of Day 2 has just been consumed. I feel great even though I exceeded my calorie limit by about 30 cals, since the calorie limit I gave myself is lower than needed anyway.

I've not weighed in since I started, but I weighed in around 4 days ago and I still stand at 60kgs. To think I used to approach 70kgs! Yoyo dieting has made my weight drop I guess, also my moving to a place where food isn't easily accessible too contributed to the (mostly) unintentional weight loss. However I'm still fat (especially in the tummy area) so I need to drop 10 more kgs (22 pounds) to be at my own ideal weight. I'm Asian and I know Asians who are typically skinny weigh 40+kgs but I'm not aiming that low... yet. It's hard enough being at this stage, the last few times I went on diets I only dropped 4kgs (63 to 59) then shot back up 2kgs (61). Now it's at 60 and I'm gonna work my way from here.

I'm not giving up this time, even though I always say this at the beginning of each weight loss journey. The healthier date to reach my goal weight recommended by CC to me is March 2009, but I'm hoping to reach there by January. Or the most by Chinese New Year (which is around the end of January/beginning of February I think). So ideally I need to lose 2 pounds per week. I can do this.
