Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. ~ Lewis CarrollAliceJohnTenniel.jpg The Mad Tea Party John Tenniel picture by lonecrone
Alice in Wonderland - Mad Tea Party ~ John Tenniel

Sometimes life is crazy.  I'd like to be unaware of my body for a day, but it keeps reminding me I'm still in it.  I was trying to remember what it felt like to be young and healthy but I can't.  I didn't fall asleep until 2:30 am and woke up at 6:30.  When I couldn't go back to sleep, mostly because of my mind being bombarded by these thoughts, I made myself a cup of tea to actually wake up.

Plan for today - Pick up my car from the mechanic.  I had a discussion with him and he feels it would be a mistake for me to give up this car.  It may be old, but the mileage is really low and the engine is in top condition.  He says he can repair the leaky gaskets, fix the rust spots and keep it running perfectly for at least a few more years.  I'm thinking about it.

After I pick up the car I'll go to the bank and then to the grocery store and pharmacy, as long as my energy holds up.

Menu for today - breakfast was left over low fat mac & cheese from last night's supper.  Not a really good choice, but easy and comforting.  Lunch will be determined by what I get at the store.  Supper is leftovers - steak, greenbeans, more mac & cheese.  Snacks will depend on what fruit is nice today.

It's a beautiful morning.  I have the windows wide open and for once there is no construction going on out on the road.  I don't know what they're doing, but there has been digging and filling of holes since I moved here.  Sometimes the road is closed and sometimes there's nothing going on.  I hope the pleasant temperature and low humidity lasts.

I'd like to thank everyone for the great jokes yesterday.  I kept coming back to my journal all day to read them.  Sometimes I need to be reminded to laugh.

Have an Absolutely Fabulous Day!  Kiss

Please send some low humidity my way.  I love having the windows open and a breeze.  I have my air on today because it is so humid and I have a ton of cleaning to do this weekend.  But after a couple of days I need to open the house back up.

Have a great day - you get your car back!  :)

Our weather lately can only be described as "mellow" neither hot nor cold.  I can live with that.  I do hope you have a good day.

If you have low mileage, car in good condition only requiring a few repairs, then it probably is worth keeping.  I know you were thinking about a new little car, but no car payments are nice and you could put that payment else where even if only into a special saving account for something extra special or for backup in case of an emergency.  Even when I purchase a new car, it isn't long before it has high miles.  I usually have a car well maintained but unable to trade in or sell because it has extremely high miles.  We usually pass on to one of our kids or grand kids.  Our Taurus has nearly 200K miles on it, but is in exceptional condition, but no one wants to buy it due to the miles.

Do take extra care while you are out and about so as not to over tire yourself.

We are in a run of beautiful days here in Indiana as well.  And I am enjoying these days very much.  The only problem is the grass keeps growing, and I am still cutting it every two weeks.

I also think I know how you feel about getting older my friend.  It really sucks that our bodies begin to decline just when we are learning to live.

But my sis has a saying that helps me get through.  "Getting old is not for the timid!."  By the God's isn't it the truth.  It takes true strength of character to continue to have an active life while we advance in years.  The timid, the weak, they fall away along the path. The whole time claiming how life isn't fair.

Then there are those who survive!  Due to great inner strength, these folk get up everyday, and live the best they can even when their own bodies want to simply stay in bed.  These are the people who squeeze every bit of living out of the short time each of us has.

I hope you have a most excellent weekend!! Cool

Good morning, Claire!!!  If you want low humidity, hop on the plane and come out here to Paradise, Calif.  not much humidity.  It is a lil smokey though, but that should be gone in a month or 2.

Dont get too tired today.   have a God day!!

love, Karen

You want really low humidity come on out to AZ.  How about 4% today?

Boy do I know how you feel about your body wearing out while you've got places to go people to see.  Blah Blah.  All my get up and go, got up and left me.  LOL

Hey, here's one for ya Claire:

A Priest, A Minister and a Rabbi went fishing one day in a little boat.  After about an hour the Priest says, "I'm getting hungry I'm going up on the beach and have a sandwich."  He puts his legs over the side and walks across the water up onto the beach, sits down and starts eating.  The Rabbi is staring but the Minister is just fishing.  Finally the Minister says, "I think I'll join him on the beach.  He throws his legs over the side and walks across the water up onto the beach.  The Rabbi again stairs and starts to pray to God out loud, "God, you know I believe in you every bit as much as the two of them.  Will you please help me to walk on the water too? Amen"  He throws his legs over the side and falls in and is splashing and crying, "Why have you forsaken me God?"  Finally the Priest turns to the Minister and says, "Do you think we ought to tell him where the rocks are?"  LMAO

Have a great weekend Claire!

I agree with Veevee, love that name.  I'd keep the car with no payments and have a few more years of use.  If you can afford it, put the same amount you would make a payment of monthly in a savings account.  Then when you want to buy the next car you are way ahead of the game payment wise.

Have a good weekend.

On the car, an older reliable car, unless it's costing you a ton in maintenance or gas is so much more cost effective than a new car.  Your registration fees and insurance fees will go up with a new car.

As you noted for me a couple of days ago, life can indeed be crazy and our bodies no least on the crazy end.  Thanks for the support.  Good vibes back at you!  And thanks for Alice in Wonderland.

"6 impossible things before breakfast" - I've always loved that quote and I didn't know who said it. Of course it was Carrol! Thank you!
