Today's Art of the Season, November

Winter Seckle Pears ~ Childe Hassam, 1918

Another uneventful Wednesday.  I had (and am having) a lot of atrial flutter and it slows me down terribly.  Last night was especially bad and this morning is not much better.  I have to wait until the 11th to see the doc and have my pacemaker/defibrillator checked again.  If you remember, they were going to give it two weeks to see if it would settle down with a slight change in meds.  I'm beginning to think it has something to do with the metformin because it's worse after dinner when I take it, and much worse if my meal is too high in carbs.  However, the endo doc says my symptoms are not side effects of metformin.  He could be wrong.  Maybe I need a better doctor because I looked it up and irregular heart rythym is listed as a side effect.  I'll talk to the cardiologist.  I'm sick and tired of all these different doctors.

Plan for today:  Lesley says she's feeling fine now, so will be here to do my laundry and a little housework.  I'm going to take it easy, keep my oxygen on and try to do my stretching and balance exercises which I've neglected.

Menu for today:  breakfast - omelette.  Snack - tea and half an apple.  Lunch - large salad with nuts and cheese.  Snack - tangerine.  Supper - dijon salmon, brown rice, broccoli.  Snack - milk.  I'm trying for better balance today to see if it makes a difference tonight.

We're getting some rain but expect it to clear and then a nice, warm weekend.  I'm going to have Lesley dry out that water in my car.  If I didn't mention it, my 16 year old car has a mysterious leak.  when it rains water collects on the floor on the front passenger side.  I have some old towels to soak it up with and then I'll run the heater with the doors open for a while to see if I can't get it dry enough so I can take a passenger who is not wearing galoshes.  Of course it would be better if somebody could find the leak and stop it, but so far nobody has.

Today:  Rest.  Be vewy, vewy quiet!  Kiss

Watch out for those pesky wabbits!

Maybe you could print up some of the better researched internet stuff for your doctor in case today's also dismisses the flutters as unrelated to meds.

Unfortunately, docs don't always know best, look at all the people here that were told by doctors to eat 1200 calories or less and exercise more!

Have a restful day *tiptoes away vewy vewy qwietwy*

I had to take my car to the garage to get the leak fixed. but it had something to do with the sunroof, my sister had the same problem.

Hope your feeling better. I'm just tired.

well it wouldn't be the first time a doctor didn't know what he was talking about...

I'm so proud of CC!!!!  What an amazing FREE site!  It has changed my life :-)

We have an imaginary electric problem that only affects the overhead lights in hubby's car :-)   You would be surprised how much you need those lights in the evening in the car, lol.  We have tried replacing the fuse several times and it just blows.  No lights for us.

Nov 11th can't come soon enough.  Is there a way you can call and say you are concerned because it is getting worse to get an earlier appointment. I should would try that.  Take care of yourself , dear friend.

And the rain might make it here this weekend. But so far today it is cool and some sunshine out.

Take care and God bless. . . .  I will be thinking and praying for your condition.

Congratulations to CC:

YAY for CC! I saw that posted on FB and left a little message there, too. That's awesome.

Claire, click here for some advice from Car Talk folks about the water pooling on your floorboards. The fifth response down has some good suggestions. My co-worker had a similar problem and was able to get it blown out with compressed air and it stopped the water build-up. Just a thought!

Glad Lesley is better. NOw you rest up too!

Not surprised CC won an award--it's one of the best sites out here!

Ugh, hope those alarming symptoms clear up soon! I'd definitely look for another doctor--wonder why he said they weren't being caused by the Metformin when they're listed as a possible side effect? I know they're not infallible--the travel clinic doctor swore up and down I didn't need a typhoid shot when my previous one had expired a month or 2 previously. NOT impressed with that; I expected competence, considering I had to pay the guy.

The internet gives everyone the opportunity to see what side effects we can have from meds. The problem is the doctors believe what the pharmaceutical companies tell them. I've had many different doctors tell me not to believe everything I read on the internet. If there are hundreds of people complaining of the same side effect and the phar. company denies it is a problem, who do you believe? Your own body or the manufacturer. Don't forget, it's the practice of medicine.

Yay CC!

I think you should check about an earlier appt too. It seems to be really affecting you and your quality of life.

Daisymae's lind to Cartalk is great. That cowl sounds like it might be a good bet. I immediately thought of a Cartalk I heard on the radio where they thought the mysterious leak came from a plugged drain hole in the door.
