Art of the Season - Autumn.

Autumn Landscape with View of Het Steen ~ Peter Paul Rubens, 1635

Bill and I had a nice visit yesterday.  He stopped at the store and got my milk and eggs.  I enjoy his company even more after all these years.  I had the windows wide open all day it was so warm and sunny.

Plan for today:  Go to the produce market for a few fresh vegetables and salad greens, and maybe bananas.  I need to go to the bank yet again.  I'm feeling the pinch and want a readout of my account since the last statement to see what checks have cleared and how much is in there to the penny.  My Social Securitity doesn't come until mid month so it's important.  I might stop at the garden center and see if they have any bargain crocus bulbs left.

Menu for today:  Breakfast - Bran flakes and milk.  Snack - apple and almonds.  Lunch - soup and salad with cheese.  Supper - chicken, brown rice, french green beans and carrots with some kind of low fat cheese sauce.  Snack - Milk, rice cake.

I'm really going to make the most of this warm sunshine because I know it won't last.  I'll check on my car and make sure it's dried out inside.  I left a window cracked open so that when it heats up in the sun the moisture can escape.  No rain predicted so it's fine for today at least.  I swear, at least some of those bulbs are going to make it into the ground today.

Bubba still is begging for me to let him drink from the bathtub faucet but he's having no luck.  At this point it's a battle of wills.  It's not like he's never seen a drinking fountain before - he had one for years before we moved.  He has drunk from it but probably not enough.  At least the noise has subsided and now it's just little begging squeaks instead of big baritone Mrrrowwws.

Today:  Sunbathe!  Cool

kitteh speak may be a language foreign to us, but they do make themselves quite clearly understood!

Does your bank have free on-line banking? I absolutely adore it. I know minute to minute what has cleared, what has not, and where I stand. Also pay almost all bills from the bank's website.

Have a good time today!

No it doesn't have online anything.  I prefer to bank at a local small, independent bank where I've had an account off and on since I was 8 years old.  They are very reliable and when you call, a real person picks up the phone.  They may not have all the fancy bells and whistles, but they never make a mistake and are always courteous.

I have chase mobile, I can request info (like last 5 transactions, or balance) by sending a text, and they send it back to me within about 30 secs. It is great when I am out about to get something and want to double check.

I have banking online for both my accounts; it helps a lot.

Enjoy your nice warm day.  Paul said it is raining at home again.  We did manage to get the dog yard worked on without being rained on.

Thank you for my card.  I really appreciate that.

I LOVE the image of Bubba and his talking. I can SO hear it in my head, since Mulder makes similar sounds! And I love that you are waiting it out for him, too!

I hope you managed to get bulbs in today! It's absolutely gorgeous out up here today and should be for the next two days. We have to enjoy it while we can!

Oh my, Rubens is the one who did those gloomy landscapes, along with the overweight nude women...not a fan of Rubens, I'm afraid...

Hasn't the weather been glorious? I can't believe it's November!

Can you try moving the drinking fountain to his favorite spot and then slowly migrate it to where you want it to be?  Kind of a negotiation instead of a hostile stand off?

We have our bank on line.  It is real nice to be able to look on line and see what our balance is.  We can see what checks have cleared so far.  the checks are listed by the check # and the amt and not by who it is made out to.  You can click to see the check and then you can copy it if you want to. (our checking acct doesnt send back the cancelled checks.  We can transfer money from savings to checking and visa versa.   Why not see if you can do this with your bank?

love, Karen  have a God day!!

Nope.  They have no intention of going high tech.  The advantage is I never had to worry about them being swallowed up by big banks and never had to put up with unfair fees.  It's so closeby that I don't mind a phone call or visit.  I can find out anything I need to know by phone talking to a real human being not an automated system.  I like it there.  Plus it's furnished with antiques.  I remember going in with my grandmother to open my very first savings account.  I like stability.  With the state the banking industry is in, I'll stick with what I have, thank you very much.

I know what you mean, it took me awhile to go with it but I did. I can look up all the info of what clears and what doesn't. makes it easier then doing mom's I've been using it for a year. I actually found a mistake that I would have miss if I just had a statement. they processed somone else's check through my acct. thank goodness it was only 15.00 if it was more like their mortage my acct would have hit bottom. There is no check to do this. It's want your comfortable doing.  I love todays picture.  Good luck with the battle of the wills with buba. Does this thing plug in? I wonder if unplug for a day or so and let him get use to it and then plug back in. My sister has one that is pluged in. hang in there.
