Today's Art of the Season - Rain!

Raining-Cats-Dogs-Posters.jpg Raining Cats & Dogs Poster picture by lonecrone

I got a good bit done yesterday thanks to Lesley - shopping and tidying the place up.

I'm feeling achy and realize that I've been neglecting my stretching, balance and upper back exercises.  I started right back in this morning with the upper back and will do the balance routine in a little while.  Those aches will disappear.

Plan for today:  I'll be busy with phone calls in the morning and a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.  In just a minute I'm putting a chicken into the crockpot to make Sticky Chicken.  I did the spice rub last night and it's been marinating.  I used Old Bay seasoning with some extra cumin and cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.

Menu for today:  Breakfast - raisin bran, milk.  Lunch - salad with hard boiled egg.  Snack  - apple, almonds.  Supper - sticky chicken, brown rice, lots of veggies.  Snack - herbal tea, milk

It's raining and expected to rain for the rest of the week.  I just got my car dried out inside, and now It will be wet again.  It's not fun driving a swamp.  I really need a "new" car, but just can't swing it this year.  The old rust bucket will just have to go on for another year.  Is there a car year, like a dog year?  If so, how many years would 16 be in car years?  I would say it's pretty elderly.

Today:  Umbrellas and raincoats are the order of the day.  Kiss

the recipe sounds great! Can you use boneless pieces or is it important to use a whole bird?

Today's pic is much fun! Can you put a barrier in the car to minimize the leak? Can you have someone put duct tape on the car underneath the carpeting?

Loved today's pic!

Sticky chicken can be done with skinless breasts, but the bone and connective tissue in the whole bird is what gives it the nice sticky texture and juices.  If there's no bone, then the meat tends to come out dry and stringy.  I've removed the skin from the whole bird and it worked almost as good as with the skin intact.

As for the car - if anyone could see where the water is coming in, then that spot could be fixed.  However, I've sat inside the car in the rain and can't see where it's coming in.  It's not dripping from anywhere and the suspicion is that it's collecting inside the door panel and then seeping in.  Poor old thing!

I clearly need glasses.  I initially read that as Stinky Chicken. Surprised

Poor car!  Would a car cover help at all maybe??
