Below 160!

Well I finally made it below 160. It's 159.8 BUT hey it's below 160! CC is now classifying me as moderately over weight......

Been doing okay food wise. Making better decisions about what I'm eating and more importantly WHY I'm eating.

Now I'm struggling with getting back to exercising. My "coach" that I picked is just not working out. I'm going to have to find someone else who can take this weightloss journey with me or just do it by myself!

Coats

So I didn't realize just how fat my arms and shoulders were...I can now wear my "old" rain coat and not have it feel restricting across my shoulders. I cannot let myself go again.

Beck Diet Plan

Just finished reading "The Beck Diet Plan" It has to do with changing your way of thinking while dieting. Great read, many principles I have started incorporating into my every day life....sitting down while eating, how to determine of it's a craving, desire or true hunger and what to do with negative thinking.

I got it from our local library, wonderful book for how to stay at my goal weight for the rest of my life!

Scale was nice to me this morning

Scale said I was 164.......I haven't seen that number for a long time. some of my shirts now are looking baggy!

Still sitting down when eating.

Charting everything at goes in my mouth.

No eating while making meals

and exercising

at least 4 times a week

this time last year

i've lost 30 pounds in a years time. things I've done differently:

sitting down to eat with everybite. helps my brain to register that yes there is calories going in and they add up no matter the size.

increasing my "greens" and fiber. helps me stay fuller longer and my body doesn't feel deprived.

increasing my exercise. from walks, to running around the corner, to bikes rides at lunch, to yoga on the Wii, it all adds up and I don't get bored.

finding new recipes and tweaking my old ones to keep down the fat and sugar content.

reading "self-help" books on weight loss. not one fits all but i can take little kernels of wisdom and apply them to my life.

praying for help with lifestyle changes. fighting against eating junk has many moral applications assoiciated with it. anything that comes because me and God is wrong. Even if it's a cheesecake!

The sorest loser

I'm officially 5lbs down...I don't record unless it's a FULL 5 pounds! So yeah it's workin' amazing how if I watch my portion size and move my body more the extra pounds come off sooner or later....:)

Change of subject.....I watched "The Biggest Loser" this week. Wow that show is so sad! Maybe I don't get the whole concept but these people are working their @sses off and they "only" lost 4 lbs or the horrors gained a whole ONE POUND!

Just made me feel really bad for them and the stress they are under....plus I don't understand why they have men, women and people in different age ranges all together. Doesn't seem fair to the older people ...................Any ways don't think I'll be trying out for that show anytime soon :)

Have a wonderful blessed weekend!

"Redeeming the Time"

I love all my CC friends journals, BTW. There isn't a post entry that goes by where I can't find a pearl of wisdom. You guys really are amazingly insightful people! Thank you!

Hugs,

Much better

Wow that was nice not going to bed hungry and waking up starving! I didn't exercise yesterday so my calories were around 1300. I must be getting used to the non-snacking after supper...I only thought about it once:).

This morning I did 10 minutes on the treadmill before I had to run out the door to take daughter to sewing class. Yeah, me! I squeezed it in even when I was telling myself "you don't have time, you don't have time". I will make TIME!

Interesting what my CC friend told me about sweetners and carbs causing me to feel less satisfied in a shorter amount of time. I use artifical sweetners, alot! Of course love the breads.....I'm going to start lessoning them both and see what happens. Thank you!

Hungry again

This is hard...keeping my calories between 1300 and 1700..too high for much of a weight loss BUT I can't go any lower without really getting cranky! I went to bed again with my stomach growling, it was hungry! I'm used to getting a snack around 9, so maybe if I keep it up for a while I stop getting hunger pangs in the evening.

Made salmon, spinach and baked potatoes for supper last night. Kids don't especially like sea food but from everything I read you should include fish at least twice a week.

I walked for 30 minutes last night with the dog and 10 minutes on the treadmill.
