So the past couple weeks my weight just DROPPED.  From 140 to 134 in two weeks...wow.  I mean the few weeks before i kept eating more then i should once or twice a week or more, stuff like that, so i knew why i kept gaining and losing the same few pounds.  I guess essentially almost maintaining for a bit through zigzaging highs and lows must have jump started my metabolism or something.  I just went back to eating what i have been aiming for throughout this whole thing and suddenly BAM!  Thats 6 pounds down right there!

 

It makes sense to me when i think back to when i started losing weight.  In the first week there i dropped five pounds i guess because of such a drastic difference in my eating habits.  Well i've been struggling for a while around the same numbers and only inching down very slow because i kept eating more then i should have, and i guess that reset things.  As of today in fact i'm 133.2!  Thats only 3.2 pounds from my goal!

 

On another note as i'm getting close to my goal i've been thinking a few things.  The first in looking at myself and seeing how i feel i've been considering losing just a little more weight.  I never really remember being less then 130 which is what led me to set that as my final goal originally.  I also was so overwhelmed with 50 pounds to lose that i doubt i could have imagined even being able to make it this far.  Now i feel empowered and know i can lose weight in a healthy stable was when i decide to though, so i have more freedom to think of where i really would like to be.  I'm not really sure how much more i would like to lose, but i'm thinking only another 5 pounds.  The lowest i can see myself wanting to go is 10 more pounds to be 120, but even that seems too small to me.  Once i get to 130 i likely will be changing my goal to 125 though and taking things from there.  I also think i want to tone up a little when i get there which will help as far as my looks go.  I'm fairly pleased with how i look, as i have been even since my starting weight, but the one thing i always have wanted is to be a bit more muscular at any weight.  I used to be very wirey and strong when i was younger and i miss looking at myself and seeing that physical strength there.  So i'll see what i can do about that.

I'm back on track and doing well, w00t!

Started - 181.4

Now - 138.4

Thats a total of 43 pounds down!  I cant believe i've lost that much!

 

First Goal: 170 by May 5th - Reached April 22nd!

Second Goal: 160 by the end of June - Reached May 27th!

Third Goal: 150 before the beginning of fall semester - Reached July 5th!

Fourth goal: 140 by Samhain (Halloween) - Reached October 11th!

Fifth goal: 130 by my birthday (December 1st)

 

So I have about a month and a half left to lose 8.4 pounds.  I'm hoping i can do this.  I've found people to DDR with, so i should be getting more exercise.  Today i have swimming and i'm walking between main and west campus, so while its not much at least i'll be a little active.  My only bump in the near future is i'm going the the renn faire saturday, but i dont mind indulging a little.  Its one of my favorite places for delicious food and i dont feel any reason to deprive myself.  With the end of my weight loss journey so near i feel very relaxed about it.  I know i can and will make it, and time matters a little less now that i'm in good health and certainly very happy with my body.

Now i'm in the 30th week and still hovering around 138.4.  I'm pleased that i have stayed in the 130s for a few days and also with how i look now.  I definitely feel i am doing well. 

Oh, i checked my state ID out of curiousity the other day and it said 137 for weight on there.  I remember fudging the numbers a bit when i got it because i thought i was likely a bit higher, but either way thats become a bit of a mini goal for me.  Also my mother is at that weight and has been encouraging and supporting me and cheering me on to get to her weight.  So i'm very very much looking forward to seeing 137 on the scale.  I know my mother has struggled hard to be healthy and wants to lose a little more weight herself to bring down her cholesteral.  I know her encouragement has helped me so much and i hope seeing me get to my goal will help her with the motivation to get to wherever she wants to be.  So 137 and beyond here i come!

So now on to week 28.  Wow, i've been doing this for 7 months.  I did get off track for a while there, but i've gotten back on track, something that i cant see myself doing in the past.  More importantly, even while sort of off track, i didnt go crazy.  I knew i was slipping and needed a break, but made sure i stayed below 150 and was sure i would snap back and continue soon.  And now i have.  I have to admit that when my motivation was slipping i decided to raise my goal to 140 and stop there for a bit.  I figured seeing my goal so in sight would help.  Plus i realized my old clothes were getting really loose, and i would actually have to buy a lot of new stuff if i got down to 130.  Which is interesting since a lot of what is getting loose is stuff i used to wear at 130.  Well, i know i dont have money for a new wardrobe but my mother stepped in with some extra motivation this time.  If i do reach 130 she said she'd finance all the new clothes i need.  So 130 here i come.  Only 10.6 pounds left! 

I remember when i started how intimidating losing 50 pounds seemed.  I can't believe i've lost just over 40.  I can definitely see the difference though.  I'm proud of myself.  And i have hope that despite slipping up for a little while i can still reach my goals in time.

Last time I wrote about my progress was when I was starting my tenth week, about a month ago.  Now I'm at the beginning of week 15, its been a full three and a half months since I began.

These past few weeks have not been the most easy.  Three birthday parties, a graduation party, a couple of barbeques, and the fourth of july is right around the corner.  Still, depsite all that i've been managing things fairly well.  The days i've gone to something special i've allowed myself to eat my maintenance calories, and for the rest of the week i've kept to my deficit or at times upped it a little using exercise so my weight loss hasn't slowed much.  I'm really shocked i'm nearing the 30 pound mark though.  More shocked then at the 10 and 20 pound ones.  It just seems like such an impossible amount to lose, or it did at the beginning!  I really sometimes don't believe i've almost lost THAT MUCH.  Ha! I can't imagine what it will be like having lost 50 pounds.  I've just never personally known anyone who has lost that much and kept it off.  It seemed like an impossible feat a few months ago yet now i'm more then half way there.

Some big milestones this past month were:

- realizing I was past the halfway mark to my goal

- being able to fit in pretty much all of my old clothes

- being able to buy cookies and cotton candy but limit the amount i have each day, somewhere along the line i seem to have developed great self control!

- finally being a healthy weight for my height!!!  this happened just a few days ago and has me more excited then anything!

 

I've learned a lot from this past month, especially about how to eat when out of the house and going to some sort of party.  It was tough limiting myself at first, now its gotten a lot easier.  For the fourth of july i planned ahead.  I've stocked up on delicious low fat turkey dogs which i can eatas many as i want of (40 calories each), and some small steaks to grill as well so i dont indulge on a whole bunch of burgers.  I also planned out dinners this week and i'm excited for potato soup, baked pasta, perogies, and more!  Its great to know i can still love and enjoy food while being healthy and losing weight.

Today i'm up to 160.4 but no worries, i've gotten used to the small fluctuations by now.  And i've now lost 21 pounds!!!  w00t!

I'm hoping to get to 150 by otakon and 145 or maybe even 140 by the end of the sumer, that would be wonderful.  My other big goals are to drink more water and get all the calcium i need, something i've always had trouble with.

Well, yay for progress!  I can't wait to see the 150's on the scale!  I also am letting myself get a haircut as a reward for hitting 160!  I'm getting a mohawk finally, after years and years of wanting one. 

Sometimes i still can't believe i dropped 20 pounds.  I just remember when i was barely a teenager and tried counting calories but even then i had no grasp on how to really measure portions of things or cook healthy recipes so i ended up only eating a tiny amount of food that still filled up my calorie intake and so on.  I felt like i was starving myself and certainly wasnt eating healthy so i had no energy either.  I'm glad i've learned a lot since then because with all the healthy things i eat i'm really happy with my calorie intake and don't feel like i'm eating less at all.  Its going to be interesting when i need to up it for maintenance seeing what new things i can fit in.  For now though, its time for some fruit and maybe a bowl of bean stew for breakfast.

I've lost over 15 pounds!!!  I can't believe i'm really doing this!  I feel healthier, have more energy, my pants fit better, its wonderful.  I admit there were a couple weeks where i could have done better, but holidays and being away from home made things tough.  Still the fast that i kept on track and still lost some is so encouraging.  This past week if anything its been harding eating enough because i've been so busy with school.  I'm hoping for healthier habits this summer though, more home cooked meals and the right amount of calories, less microwave soup or dinners and less eating too much or too little.

I'm really looking forward to creating my costume for otakon.  As part of it i'm going to wear a leotard and I think i'll look really good in it.  I also cant wait to reach my 160 goal cause my reward will be a haircut.  I think i'm finally going to get a mohawk, something i've wanted to do for YEARS.

So full steam ahead.  I hope i can continue losing a couple pounds a week, enough to reach 160 by mid june so i can be at 155 or less by the con.  I already felt wonderful at about 165 with 15 pounds gone, i cant wait to see what its like at 155 being down another 10.  Jeeze, that will put me half way to my goal!  I'm wondering if i really will go to 130 though, since i'm starting to feel kinda thin already.  I mean i know i'm not at all skinny, but it feels like that cause i think i'm getting close to whats normal for me.  Who knows, maybe 140 will be a good weight to stop at.  I'll decide when the time comes though.  Right now i'm just glad to be on track.  I want to hit my next goal!!!

I think based on my progress I might reach my other goals a little earlier then expected.  What I need to do now is up my deficit without changing how much I eat, so its more exercise for me!  In fact, I should get some DDR in this morning if I can. 

I really would like to hit 155 by otakon, so thats a loss of 10 pounds by July 17th.  The cosplay I'm doing is going to be pretty skintight, so it will be nice to have some great curves then but be a little more toned up then I am now.

I'm still motivated and seeing results and its been five weeks now.  I have to admit I'm surprised I've stayed motivated this long and that after the first few weeks it was rarely a struggle to eat right.

Annoyingly enough I calculated how much I've been losing a week wrong because I didn't notice I hadn't logged for on of the days over the holidays when I wasn't home.  It doesn't make a huge difference, I just like having things organized correctly.  Here is a more accurate weekly loss thing though.

Things seemed to actually have evened out pretty well as far as how much i'm losing.  It also is a lot better seeing it like this because daily it doesnt seem like i'm losing that much a week cause my weight fluctuates and seems to just being going down and back up from water weight and stuff so its harder to see the gradual decrese.  I'm hoping by adding some exercise I can up my lose to around 2 pounds a week, but we'll see.  If i just keep doing what I'm doing I imagine i'll still lose about 1.2 a week.
