Ever have a disaster day...?

I just did....yesterday---I did not even fill in what I ate yesterday- until today- because I knew it was insane- yet I continued- kids are sick, husband sick, I am running in a million directions- and the last thing I wanted to do was cook a nutritious meal- so I nibbled- and resorted to all the bad habits of years past- and easily cleared the 3000 calorie mark...so I guess it is get back on the horse and stop nibbling....please tell me some of you have had this happen before and it is not the end of the world!! I feel like I sabotaged all my hard work of months and months!

Sick all week

actually- been fighting sinuses for over 2 weeks now- but finally got my dose of the flu and fever and aches this week- been down and out the entire week- yesterday finally got some housework done and felt like eating and prepareing food for family- but may have pushed too hard first day out- as I feel like crapola today! But will muddle through- no choice- schedule is frighteningly hectic starting monday- so need to be 100% by then! Wish me luck- oh and ps- the Drs scale again- is way out of line from mine- but seeing I use mine daily I plan to stick to those numbers- ....but alas I will know the truth...add about 15!!

Nibbling weekend!

It was just all bad- do you ever just get bored with food in general! I did not want to see it, prepare it, think abou tit- it was a horrible weekend- so I nibbled- and nibbled- and ate nothing of value- but on the positive side- ate very little - even had actual hunger pangs- and I tried to let them go for 30 minutes- just to prove I could- not gonna die from being just a bit hungry!!! lol!

Anyway, it was not a total disaster- when kids wanted McDs I did not eat it. When they wanted Whataburger- I refrained- so I have passed that hurdle- they can still have treats and I can avoid it- and eat well at home. Ok- not as much fun but much healthier and I feel better for it.!! It is noticeable!

So I begin anew with a commitment to LOVE food again- and make it healthy!

New Year--Same Goals--drop the weight!

OK so it is a new year and the same goals live- but ya know I have a different motivation this year and it feels real. I think I hit the life changing moment to make it happen this time--So far the good news is I have stuck to the exercise/weight lifting routine for more than 2 weeks- -3-. That is AWESOME! I want to add in the aerobics piece to really burn the calories....Oh I am still walking and that is good- but not the same as really moving and burning the calories. Baby steps Baby steps- I do feel better, aside from the cold I am fighting, but I feel stronger and better- sooooo I need to just keep going the 2 weeks will turn into 4 then 8 then 16 and from there it will all be a normal part of my routine.

Christmas

Well did not get the treadmill or elliptical for Christmas we had hoped not even a new scale so we will continue to work on things with what we have- oh we did get our son a free weights bench and so I had my husband teach me a bit about weights- and what would help me and my body issues- he was awesome. Then I did some reading and well maybe this will help and be more fun than all the girly stuff I never got into- aerobics , little wrist weights etc- I just never got much out of it- but I used the weights the way hubby suggested today and I feel good- guess we need to see how I fell tomorrow! In my reading it noted I could easily compliment the weight/strength training with cardio- my walking- so if I alternate the two I should do great- hey no matter how you slice it - it is tons more than I have been doing- and doesn't every little bit count????? Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and saw friends and family- now back to work and daily tasks- but with a refreshed attitude! Should be a fun new year!

Doctors scale

ok so the docs scale was still way off from mine- in the scales favor- so my numbers are all a bit 'lower' than actual- but I need not adjust- otherwise it mentally makes me think I am failing rather than succeeding- dr scale registered 254 vs mine at 240- but regardless that is 12 pounds lower than a year ago- so that is a success- of sorts right!!??? now I need to up the ante and lose a pound a week instead of a pound a month!!! I am actually psyched by the positive news- because I wasn't feeling positive- so this is GOOD news.

Ok gotta run- today was a bad start to the day, kids are fighting, hubby is busy all day and I have to make cookies and cakes for the holidays- temptation is sooooo great- so I need to get to the store and pick up 2 bags of salad for the day- so I can make that my meals and not totally fall off the wagon- roll under the wheel- and have my whole efforts flattened!!!

Love holidays and dieting- never realized it takes so much concious effort not to eat 6000 calories in a day!!!! cookies, cakes, pastry, yummmm!

Well- made it

through thanksgiving without gorging myself!! and for those who know me- they know this is my most favorite holiday- the hours and hours spent with family and friends over great food and great conversation- not to mention the rousing games of trivial pursuits- boys v girls....and having all the generations in the room made it awesome- someone could answer almost ANY question!!

Lots of veggies, lots of salad, some good wine and not tooooo many desserts- just enough to not feel deprived- ANDDDD this year we added a long long walk with the kids to the afternoon activities! I think this needs to be a new tradition! One that is healthy and fun for all!

The headaches are better- I stopped the BP meds because they seemed to make it worse...now I am using Centrum Cardio multi vitamin- and a diuretic- together the numbers are awesome! and the headaches few and far between. Haven't had a reading over 137/87 and/or a pulse over 77 in a week or two...could be the change in vitamins, could be a change in exercise, but whatever it is- it is awesome to feel better- and the energy is great!

Ok- time to get dinner for the family- so gotta run!

Drs Scale vs My scale-

ok - so this is the reality- I cannot get to the DRs to weigh myself for the updates- so from here on out I will use my scale- and then make adjustments in my head- because when I bounce between drs scale and my scale it gets the charts allll confused- example today got on docs scale it was 262- my scale is 240---huge difference- so I will just stick with my scale as that is were I started all this and work down from there- when I get to 130 it really will not matter to me if it is really 130 or actually 150- they will BOTH be a MASSIVE achievement and no matter how you do the math I will have dropped 110 pounds! that will be a day for mimosas on the deck!

I tried to do some yoga today- ok- I am not the flexible one I once was...had not noticed THAT too slipping away- but downward dog was not as easy as it should have been and had I a mirror to see myself- I am sure it was as comical as it seemed- good thing I have a sense of humor for this...

Last night I was doing a dance aerobics video and my two boys came in and decided to do it with me- I am so self conscious I could not continue- I felt like they were laughing at me- they weren't- the normal part of my brain new they were giggling about dancing with mommy- but the fat obsessed part of my brain felt like they were passing judgement and laughing at me- fat me! It sucked to feel that way.

Today I went way over with calories- it was all silly boredom induced snacking- the meals were fine- it was snacking- I need to stop snacking- I have gotten my portion control under control- but not the snacking---so onto step two in my diet makeover.

surgery vs activity

ok I am so motivated- I want to be healthier but I am soooo sick of all the people I know- wiz bang boom going in for surgery and then proclaiming they are thin- and life is great...and maybe it is- but it just feels like cheating- I don't know all the details of each situation so that is judgemental - well a bit- I do know some of the situations and details and I do know sitting around gorging on tacos, burritos, nachos and 3-5 mixed cocktails a night- does nothing to help one lose weight so to cry 'I tried everything' is a stretch of the truth...so I will continue to do it my way- which is no surgery- it just scares me- and when I see those that do it- through sheer determination- I know I too can be one of them---ugh! Gotta run- and by run- I mean- run!
