Entry I'm Pathetic
Dec 23 2007 13:07

I just tried walking on the treadmill at 3 mph for an entire 10 minutes--an eternity for one who never exercises. I'm sweating, after only 10 minutes! This is pathetic. I'll have to try again tomorrow, and hopefully eventually increase the time.

I don't want to be at my goal and still be out of shape, so this is going to have to change.

Oh well; at least I'm trying.

You sound like me when I first lost weight in 2004. At least you lasted longer than I did!! Keep at it adding more time as you are able to. When I first started 5 minutes on the treadmill was an eternity, right now I can do two 45 minute classes at the gym and feel good. Exercise is a process and a rewarding one at that. This I promise you!! Good luck:)

Thanks a lot. I've always hated exercise, but I realize I'm just going to have to do it if I want to be healthy, as the benefits outweigh the pain it takes to get there.

I can tell you the first 5, 10, 15, sometimes even 20 minutes ARE the hardest!  For myself, when I'm on the eliptical I almost always want to give up after the first 5 or ten minutes!

Your in good company brandon, most people suffer just as yourself.

I managed after a period of time to really increase my time and intensity of my cardio workout.

If adding 5 min. each time, try adding 3 min. or even 1 minues.  It will all add up, and before you know it you'll be doing 20 minutes, 30 minutes.

Small increments are no sign of failure-more like a person taking the new lifestyle seiouslya
