Did the first 2.07 miles of the distance on pace; 25 minutes above 5.0 mph. After that I slowed it down to 4.8 with the objective of simply finishing the 5K. I was hot and decided that finishing was a reward in itself after a week spent in my car. After I hit 5K, I took it down to 4.0 & kept going until 45 minutes had elapsed. I stretched out and was almost cooled down by the time I got to the grocery store.
From the minute I got home I've been in the kitchen; cooking & cleaning (If I hated it, I wouldn't do it). DH is grilling everything I put in front of him, and we'll be able to eat leftovers all next week. We've had our delicious dinner and it is settling. Later on we've got apple pie and I'll still be within calorie limits....
I don't know if we'll get to see any fireworks tonight or not. It has a habit of raining like crazy on the 4th.

It's great that you had such nice weather for the run. It's the rainy season here... The food sounds perfect for the 4th. I like apples for a treat too. They really are a good value calorie-wise for the flavor and satisfaction factor. |
