Entry Eatin greens ain't meant for no fork...

I am having a very soul food lunch today - more leftovers= budget friendly and DELICIOUS!!!  As I am eating at my desk and I will undoubted have SOMEONE come over and ask me a question while I am having lunch I have been eating greens and cornbread with a fork.  Now all my southern raised friends KNOW that that is NOT the proper way to enjoy greens and cornbread (as my granny says "Eatin greens ain't meant for no fork')...  Greens and cornbread are a mash food - you get a little greens and juice in your fingers and mash in some cornbread and scoop it all up (and if my Paw Paw saw my plate he would ask me where the fresh tomato and onion are that go along with it!).  Alas, I am at work so I can't mash greens in my fingers and type at the same time! :)

I still haven't been to the gym since returning from vaca - thats over a week of pure slacking. I wish I could say that I have been doing Wii at home or my Shred - but I haven't done either.  My goal tonight is to commit to doing something after bible class - either Shred or Slim in 6.  I am afraid to tackle the treadmill for fear that I can't make the 5K again. *SIGH* gotta jump back on that horse SOON.

Vic's dr. appt is today... I am hoping they will discontinue the diuretics and have good news about his heart function.  Prayers needed and accepted! :)

Happy Wednesday All!

***Edit:  No change to medication and if Mr. Man doesn't get his blood pressure under control in 3 months, more meds to come.  The doctor is SURE he can control it with diet and exercise, the two things Mr. MAN wants no part of *FRUSTRATION* ***

Sorry Heather!!! We are rolling into the holidays, so I can see LOTS more greens and cornbread meals in my future!  And I will enjoy them totally undignified!

I know that so many people on meds could control their symptoms with diet and exercise. So many! But it is sure hard to do, isn't it? To get back on track with diet and exercise. Especially when you aren't feeling all that great in the first place. My FIL has alot of meds that he takes but the doctor says that if he would diet and exercise, he probably wouldn't have to take them. It is frustrating!

*hopes for the best for you and Mr. Man!!*
