It's Friday, and a workday!Nov 06 2009 12:25
Today I am on a fast. Our entire church is fasting - they are fasting from 6am today until 6am tomorrow. I am fasting until 6pm tonight. I am attending my brother's "I PASSED THE BAR" celebration tonight. I am so proud of him I could just scream! He makes me proud more than he makes me wanna punch him (which is lots - baby brother's do that).
And I am trying to take the scripture that says "in ALL things give thanks" life in my world today. I am frustrated with work but PRAISE GOD that I have this job! I am thankful that my husband is teaching me patience and long-suffering - both of which are fruits of the spirit. I just have to keep working them in my life.
Today is report card pickup for Vincent. He after that we are going to a music instruction facility nearby which starts its lessons at 5year olds but they do have exceptions - so they are going to interview my boy today. We would like to have him learn piano - it is something that he can practice at home since we have a piano and keyboard. Anything at this point but DRUMS! LOL
The little person has a knack for reciting things forward and backward with no instruction - he has been saying his alphabet forward and backward for a year. He learned to count to 100 over the summer and last week started counting back down to 0. Yesterday Vic asked him just on a whim to spell his whole name backwards. He spit it out like he was reading it off a card. His mind works really differently and amazingly to me. I want to capture that learning spirit while he is young and hopefully he will build on it as he grows.
Tonight - gonna party and enjoy celebrating with the grown up baby! Tomorrow - we may go out to our timeshare - they are willing to give us $100 for coming out and listening to them try and sell us stuff. The holidays are approaching, and every little bit helps.
Sunday is church, and FOOTBALL!!! gosh - its gonna be over before we know it - it seems like I was WAITING (IM)patiently for it to start in september... and now the seasons half over.
OH!!! I ALMOST FORGOT TO SHARE...
HUBBY CUT HIS HAIR!!! NO MORE DREADLOCKS... I like him with short hair, but I never shared my opinion because I knew he liked it and it is his head ultimately. SO I WAS VERY SHOCKED WHEN HE SENT ME THE PIC!

I took piano lessons starting at age 4 until I was a junior in high school. It definitely gave me a huge advantage when it came time to play instruments in school (I'm sure you've read this but I play/played flute, piccolo, bassoon and sax in addition to piano). And, learning to play piano is a great springboard for percussion instruments (which is what all boys want to play, isn't it?!). Yay for haircuts! |
I feel like so many passed the bar - a handsome young man in my building, my friend's roommate, your brother!!! Congrats! Kids absorb everything when they are young! Now's the time to give him all his little brain can handle! Oh I wish I could get Miguel to cut off his beard. But, like you said, "his head!" Have a good weekend. |
