After buying p90x probably 2 or so months ago, me and R(girlfriend), finally decided to start the program...15 days ago. Its actually been quite a change. The biggest thing I can say about it...the amount of time it consumes is actually quite alot. I get home from work, get changed by roughly 4pm. The workouts generally round off to being roughly an hour and a half, then its time to recover, so its usually 6pm by the time I'm unwound from the workout. Then its time to shower and cook dinner. Then after dinner, its time to cook for lunch and when its all done its about 7pm or so. I was a big fan of frozen easy mode lunches....but I don't have room for it at the moment. I am trying to follow the nutrition plan pretty much, so it makes shopping more expensive and planning what to eat for the week pretty hellish.
Overall, the eating part has been ok. Finding low fat recipes that fit the whole 50% protein, 20% fat, 30 % carbs can be pretty hellish, but it is happening. Slipups well, I like to stay up later at night then I should, which DOES lead to cravings at night. This usually turns into a cashew eating fest. Suppose it could be worse then just cashews. Its the only snack we really have in the apartment. I still don't think I eat enough, because according to my heart rate monitor, I burn roughly 700-900 calories a workout (500 for yoga).the nutrition guide in p90x tells me to eat 2600 calories a day, but sometimes its hard to eat that much. Its sooo much food, plus I'm paranoid about eating that much
So the big thing, measurements. Ever 2 weeks is the "offical" measurement day and new pictures and this was what we had.
Day1
Weight: 169.4, Waist: 32.75, Waist(naval): 35.75, Hips: 35.75, Neck: 14.5, Chest: 39, Thighs: 21.25, Arms: 12
Day 15
Weight: 168.0, Waist: 32.25, Waist(naval): 34.25, Hips: 34.5, Neck: 14.25, Chest: 38.5, Thighs: 20.75, Arms: 12
To my surprise I can actually see results in my pictures I have taken. I'm not sure if this is just my imagination, but at least it gives me motivation to keep going on. Some days, after work, the motivation to spend that quality time with workout dvd's is just NOT there. My newest goal is to blog daily about my experiences with this program and how my weight loss is going, so hopefully I and maybe other can get motivated. Any comments, questions etc are welcome!
Mondays are my rest day of the week. Haven't decided yet if I wanted to attempt to do a very short jog in the park or just let myself unwind for the day.
