Entry The last hurdle
Oct 03 2009 11:41

I am stuck at 106 lbs and have been for one month now. I need to gain at least another 7 pounds. I gained the most weight by eating low density high calorie foods, but then felt I needed to challenge my ed in other ways by having meals with my family, eating out, trying new foods (all of this meant I wasnt necessarily eating high cal). So, while Im doing well challenging my ed, Im still not at a heallthy weight ( my period isnt back). The longer I stay at this weight, the harder it will be to gain, and the more used to this weight I will get and the more likely ed is to slip back.

So what am I going to do? I am going to go back to eating high cal, low density. To gain the last bit of weight. Once I do this, then I will be able to face up to doing all the things like eating family meals and all that, but for now I am going to eat high cal low volume.

The challenges/ ed thoughts I faced doing this before were:

-Looking at all the calorie labels in shops

-Being indecisive about what to have

-Giving out to myself for not having the highest calorie thing I could find

-Getting used to having very high calorie salads (aka avoiding fat and carbs)-im v.good at making high calorie salads!

-Distancing myself completely from family meals

-Being scared of fat and carbs

How am I going to over come these?

-Only buy food when I need to, I know the high calorie stuff (dont need to look at labels)

-Decide on one thing and have it and thats it

-There is always going to be a higher calorie option and less filling, and what I am having is enough and my stomach cant shrink

-Have alternate meals including carbs, fats and protein

-Include myself in family meals, and add extras

-Have alternate meals including fat, carbs, and protein

-Have breakfast/dinner/lunch type foods.

Its the ed saying

Carbs are bad-

I fiona know, carbs are good, they count towards calories and they give energy to my mind, body and mood

Its the ed saying

Meat? Your not having enough fibre

I fiona know that I have enough fibre throughout the day naturally

Its the ed saying

Your having too much fat

I fiona know that fat is good, I am not having too much, and it will help me gain weight

Finally

-when the option isnt there to eat high calorie and its an ed challenge instead-take it, and add unnoticeable calories

-try not to give out to myself for not being able to have certain meals that i know are filling but wont give enough cals
