Dang it, bad Monday
Nov 24 2009 14:27

Been good the 16th -22nd.  Kept my intake levels around 2000, but always below 2300.  Didn't work out a lot, but was proud that I kept my levels low for 7 days straight.

Then came yesterday and some bad decisions.

  • First, decided to eat a donut and muffin for lunch.  Had avoided donuts for awhile successfully, but fell off the wagon.
  • For dinner, I should have had mac & cheese and it's 700 calories but instead splurged and wnet for the over 1500 calories in the frozen pizza.

I did make some good choices:

  • Stayed away from the bacon Angus 1/3 pounder and shake at lunch.
  • Didn't hit the vending machine
  • Didn't have any chips while waiting for my dinner to cook.
  • Fell asleep rather than take in dessert in the form of chocolate cherry ice cream.

Ughh.  I need to exercise today.  I'm trying my darndest to fight off the urge for lunch, but I'm not going to be able to win.  So the trick will be to fight off the snacks and desserts tonight.  And I gotta stay strong through Thanksiving or last week will have been for nothing.

More sleep...more exercise...less food.  More sleep....more exercise...less food.

Weekend Food 11/20-11/22
Nov 23 2009 07:49

So this weekend I stayed at my In-laws and I've been doing alright but I could totally have been doing better.  Saturday night I totally justified buying one of the new sundaes at cold stone.  I only ordered a like it size, but they made too much so it ended up in a bigger bowl, and I did eat it all even though I was so full...I'm still not sure why i did that.  But I was pretty great the rest of the day so I'm okay with that.  And yesterday the worse thing I did was drink coffee with regular sugar in it and whole milk because neither my parents or the in-laws have sugar substitute or believe in skim milk.  Other than that I was pretty good.  we went for chinese and I got the wonton soup which I love, and was sooo YUMMY.  I did have a couple pieces of spare ribs, and a chicken skewer, and a beef skewer.  But I think I still had enough calories for that...however I know the sodium was probably out of control.  And then for no reason at all, while watching tv last night I had a piece of apple pie.  I really liked the apple pie, and after I finished eatting it I was sooo not hungry anymore, but I had a second piece.  There's no reason for it all.  It's like all weekend I have had no self control with desserts.Frown

So today is Monday, and just like every monday I'm going try to recommit.  It's hard for me to plan my meals this week since I'm not home, and we're usually just deciding what to eat when we get hungry.  But today we're going grocery shopping so things should get  a little easier.  Also, I've been planning a head for thanksgiving.  I have hubby making his roasted butternut squash (instead of mashed) that is very diet friendly and delicious.  I'm still trying to figure out what to do for dessert but we'll see.

Wish me luck guys...I kind of need it.

Breakfast: Fiber One English Muffin (100), 2 tbsp Peanut Butter (190 but this may be an over estimation), 1/3 can of peaches in pear juice with a cup of coffee that had about 1/4 of a cup of 2% milk in it. Smile

Snack: Strawberry Frosted Donut...it was calling to me I swear (210, could have been so much worse) Embarassed

Lunch: 2 slices who wheat bread (140), 1 fried egg (70). 1 tbsp Miracle Whip (40), a small amount of a ham/turkey salad that a co-worker brought in for me when he bought pizza for everyone else.  I didn't want to insult him by not eating it, so I took a small amount, and didn't use any dressing. But it had pizza cheese on it, so I'm not sure how many calories it was...Undecided

Dinner: ??? Heading home for the Thanksgiving week that I have off.  Hubby and I will be stopping somewhere to eat on the way home.  Maybe we can go to that pizza place that had really yummy soup.  That wouldn't be bad at all.

Water: (Goal = 100) I I I I I I I I (By 1:00pm)

Fitness: Not going to end up doing much today...packing for my vacation...taking Bella for a walk when I get home...and push ups in the bathroom at work.

Fitness: Walking Bella, doing laundry (let's try this again) and squats in the bathroom at work (so far I've done 30 of these by 12:30pm). Tried to jog on my walk with Bella today. But Hubby says I only lasted 2 or 3 minutes. It felt like I really pushed myself and I was so disappointed to hear that. But he's objective. But I sill also says he's very bad with time so...Anyway, I tried.

Measurements
Nov 19 2009 12:37

Taken for a 10 week challenge for Schmooze and Lose.  This is a great idea, and I'll be able to have a starting point in 10 weeks when I take them again.

Measurements:

Arms:    15
Bust:     40
Waist:   37
Hips:     50*
Thighs:  31*
Calf:      19

* Biggest problem areas, and I'm most self conscious about them.  I never feel like they get any smaller...hopefully measuring will help me to see that they do.

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled, 1 Fiber One English Muffin (300ish) with coffee and skim milk. Laughing

Lunch: Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup, 16 Wheat Thins (140), 1 wedge Laughing Cow Cheese (35). Wink

Dinner: hubby is making me orange chicken (breast) with white rice and pea pods (???). This has potential to be disastrous since the chicken will be breaded, and I have to make sure I portion control the rice.  But it's so yummy so I'm ok with his choice. Update: I was so good last night.  I had about 600 calories allowed for dinner, and when hubby gave me my plate it sooo full.  I told him he gave me too much.  So he took 1/2 of it away, and I ate what was on my plate and that's it.  Now, the chicken was deep fried, but it was chicken breast, and I probably only had about 4 oz tops.  I had maybe 3/4 cup of rice, but probably only 1/2 a cup, and I had about 1/2 cup of pea pods. So I stayed within my limit and I have lunch for today!!! Super proud of myself. LaughingKiss

Water: I I I I I I I I (By 12:30) I I I = 88 Ounces it's so hard to drink 100...but 88 is still great! Laughing

Fitness: More laundry, and walking the puppy. Update: so I didn't do laundry last night, but I did end up walking the puppy which was great!

Fundraising Idea for Hubby...
Nov 18 2009 06:36

Okay, so I was going to try to wait until I had more figured out, but this morning I had an epiphany, and I am sooo excited that I just can't wait to share it. and part of me thinks that if I don't put it down in writing, I may just decide not to do it...Foot in mouth

So, since Ryan was diagnosed last April with Leukemia I've wanted to do some kind of fundraiser.  And this morning I figured out just what to do.

"Losing for Leukemia"

Basically, starting January 1st, for 12 weeks I'm going to be losing weight in an effort to earn money to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The 12 weeks ends on March 26th which gives me just under a week to collect all the earnings to make the donation on April 1st, Ryan's Birthday, in his name to the Society.

I've decided to create a sponsor form where people can donate for each pound I lose, or make a one time donation.  And I think it would be cool if other people wanted to join me.  It would keep me motivated to lose weight and be healthy because it is for a bigger cause than me, and I would be able to feel great about doing it.  Also, the sponsor form would ask for peoples' addresses and at the end of each 4 week cycle I could send a newsletter letting everyone know how things are going.  So many ideas in my head right now...I kind of need to calm down a little.

Just thought I'd share my idea...if anyone has any opinions please share them with me.  As this was literally an idea that popped into my head at 5:30ish when I was on my way into work.  I'm sure there are some loop holes or something that I'm missing.  Thanks!!! LaughingCoolKiss

Breakfast: Kashi hearty honey cinnamon oatmeal with 1/3 can peaches in pear juice; 1 egg and 1 piece american cheese. Laughing

Lunch: 1 can tuna (120), 1 tbl Miracle Whip (40), 1 tsp yellow mustard, 1/2 tsp relish, 1 cucumber sliced into rounds, 1 cup grape tomatoes.  Very Yummy...but I'm craving sweets...so 3 pieces twizler (120). Embarassed

Dinner: 1 Bone In Pork Chop, Roasted Butternut Squash, String Beans Laughing (So, I'm not fully sure what the calories were in this meal, but it was delicious and my husband makes sure not to use a lot of fat when he's cooking.  The downside was that I didn't trim the fat off of my pork chop like I should have so I know it wasn't as low cal as it could've been.  But the bright side is that I was so fun after eating at 5:00 that I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the night)

Water (goal is 100 ounces): I I I I I I I I I I (does tea with 1 truvia count?) = 80 ounces.  Better than a usual day, but not quite there yet.

Fitness: Walked Bella for about 20 - 30 minutes and did 2 loads of laundry.  Also, not much activity but so much better than usual. Kiss Feeling good!!!
