My body is protesting against me...

No response. Everything I do. Granted, when I was on vacation for a month, I wasn't expecting anything, in fact, I was expecting to gain. But I didn't eat NEARLY as bad as I could have. I was very aware. I still worked out and everything. The last 16 days I've zigzagged 1426 cals a day. I'm eating SUPER clean. No processed, no preservatives, organic, you name it. Every week, I pick up foods from the grocery store that can give me max benefits, not for weight loss, but for function. What my body needs. Power foods! I know it hasn't been long, I'm also doing 2 -a days about 2-3 days a week. I know I have to be patient. I told myself no full blown cheat days til I see some serious change. I allow myself 1-2 maintenance days. That's about 1800-2000 cals on those days. My average cheat day would be upwards of 4500 calories. And even with those days, the scale was fine. I'm also taking supplements, was hoping for some help, but of course, nothing. I think I take them to keep me in check. Plus, my period starts in a few days. We'll see what the scale says next week, but I'm running out of options!

Been awhile since I logged

So, I seem to be stuck at 120, and back in the day, I was stuck at 115, and I wanted to weigh 113, then I stayed at 118 forever, and just wanted to be back at 118! Now, I've been at 120, and I just want to be 118. The weird thing is, is, everything still fits great, well for the most part. There are some things I truly had to get rid of, but I love the way my muscles look. I do have some fat to lose. I think it's skinny fat, but it looks like it's shrinking in certain areas. But the weight isn't changing. Also, almost 2 weeks now, I was at my mom's house all week, ate, pretty much whatever, (it's hard to be strict around her) and when I came home, I weighed 120. Week later, back at my eating clean and all, weighed this morning, 120. We will see what next week brings.

My Body Sabotoged ME!

The week of the cruise. Of all weeks. 3 weeks prior, like I always do, I amp up my workouts, I eat SUPER clean, no salt, all fresh foods, and foods higher in potassium, tons of water, no gum, so diet sodas, nothing. But, it was also the week of my period, and while sometimes I don't have issues with water retention, or atleast not bad enough for me to hardly notice, this was the week it had to be the worst I've ever had! I couldn't effing believe it! I was bulging out of my swimsuits, I had cellulite that I haven't seen in years! My calves we're so tight, they felt like they were going to explode! My thighs couldn't not stay apart, my abs? NONEXISTENT! It looked like I was one of those people who don't workout, and their metabolism has slowed down. I looked like a person who just let themselves go. And that's not fair! Because I don't! I even had a crying episode over it. I NEVER do that! What was the point of working out so hard, if all I wanted to do was be covered up? I was just in Cancun like 2 months ago, and felt fabulous! And I was eating salty foods, drinking everyday, and my body was good to me the WHOLE TIME! THE WHOLE TIME!!!!! I don't get it. I just don't get it.

Of course, now that I'm home, my water retention levels are non existent, back to normal. I'm a few lbs heavier, but I was expecting that, since I was on a floating buffet. That's what the extra training is for, and I will be back to normal levels within another week, but still. It was awful. The one week I want my body to look good, what I WORK SO HARD FOR, backfired. I hope nobody ever experiences that because I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Sometimes, I HATE being a woman. My man NEVER has these problems. NEVER!

Going on a cruise on Saturday!

Here I am again.

Did almost 3 weeks of eating right and exercising. Not that I always don't, but no drinking and no cheat day. I zigzagged an average of 1450 a day. Weighed myself today - and....NOTHING. Yes, it's a few days before my period, and I feel like my body is holding onto some water, due to the increased workouts, but still. And I know it's just a number, but it's like, I just want to see some progress before me. You know? Now, I DO, like what I see. I'm seeing some extraordinary lines, and the way my body is changing before me. I've been noticing this just recently. I know I'm doing something right. I do believe, I should be eating more. I'm pretty sure of it. But I will be consuming lots of calories on the cruise. I don't diet on a vacation, I don't do traditional workouts. I dance and swim around and laugh. That's it. I don't binge either. I eat fairly well on the cruise, but if that baked Alaska comes around and I am HUNGRY for it. I will have it. I don't believe most of my calories come from the food. It's the alcohol. I enjoy it. I don't binge either, but you can always find me with a beer in my hand or a vodka something, casually enjoying myself. I probably won't gain but a few water pounds as my body will be in recovery. Too bad I won't see a scale cuz I really want to see my results in the end of this!

I'm Excited!

Today, is day one of bootcamp, and eating clean. It's a great time of year too. Fresh veggies and fruits, in fact I'm going to go and cut up a watermelon right now. I enjoyed my cheat days, but I'm also disgusted too. I'm looking forward to this. Of course in 18 days, I will be ready for some fun again, but I'm gonna look good doing it!

Bootcamp coming soon...

Well, once again me fiance and I are on the brink of another vacation. That means, today we're going to be good, but it's not going to be great either. Tomorrow is our last cheat day until our cruise, which will be 18 days. Tomorrow will literally be like Fat Tuesday. I'm going to enjoy it, because for 18 straight days it's nothing but workouts and lean proteins and veggies and complex carbs. And the last week for me is, high potassium foods, as well as diuretic friendly foods, and no salt, but I've been pretty good with that anyway. Usually, we don't see a lot of results until the middle of a vacation, when our bodies are in recovery, which is the best. Of course, after the cruise, I'll be a little bloated a few lbs heavier like where I started, so I skip a cheat day for a week after, but that's okay. I DON'T do vacations with counting calories, and standard exercise. That's not me. I try and make some conscious decisions, and I don't necessarily go overboard, but I'm not going to just drink vodka and soda, or a light beer. I drink what I want to drink, I will eat only when I'm hungry, and if I want cake and ice cream I will. And my choice of exercise is not sitting in the fitness center. I'll do the Cha Cha Slide, The Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and maybe a little floating in the pool. I can't wait. And I love looking good doing it!

Last 4 days, I've been taking another vacation myself. Parents have been in town and we have really been enjoying ourselves. Had a few cheat days. (About 4 to be exact!) But, it's okay. Because it will be close to 2 weeks again before I have one official cheat day. I have been continuing my workouts, so that's good. Today, will be the first day back since Monday that, even though they're are still in town, and I'm not real strict, I will be counting today, and I am going to try and stay at 1800 or lower. That's the goal!

The Truth Hurts! Now a proud owner of a foodscale.

Wow. I mean whoops! And damn. I've been eating more fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats, chicken, lately, and I THOUGHT I was already OVER ESTIMATING. But I was still under! I don't know for sure about everything, but case in point? The almight sweet potato. I was off by about 180 grams! That's almost 200 calories! But, it's okay. NOW I know. Now it's the begining. I feel better about what I eat now. Before when we would cook and grill fresh stuff, I was always wondering how much I was truly eating, and hoped it was correct. But now, I know. And will know. I just wish I had gotten the ALMIGHT food scale sooner!

I'm Back!

So I went to Cancun, had a blast, and I'm not just talking about the fun and sun. It was enjoyable to not worry about counting calories and killing myself at the gym. However, I have found out that by doing that prior, my body was thanking me. I thought I was going to be bloated by day 2. But no. My body was very nice to me. I was able to eat whatever and drink whatever I wanted and I looked good in that swimsuit. I believe my body needed that rest, and was burning calories a mile a minute. Then, when I came home Friday, I decided I was going to give myself 2 more days to do whatever. Not go overboard mind you, but to not count calories. See, when we cook out at home, I have to freaking measure everything and weigh everything, and it would still be higher in calories. So, I decided to not count or weigh, just put food on my plate. Have a few cocktails while we're cooking. Have some light ice cream, but leave the measuring cup in the drawer. I did workout again hardcore the last 2 days, just so my body doesn't get out of shape, and let me tell you, it was a little bit of a challenge, but it got easier. I hope my metabolism doesn't know which way to go right now. Today, I'm cutting down to 1200 for 2 days, and doing a HUGE gym workout and P90X yoga. My metabolism will be going haywire. So, it's exciting. And now, for the next 2 weeks, it's hard core and no cheat days. But I enjoyed the last week. What fun. And I don't look half bad all considered!

Cancun...

Cancun. 1 week and 1 day from now. Must look like a trophy. So far, I'm very happy with the way the gym has transformed me. I don't like the bulkiness I'm getting, but I've now got P90X and am doing the lean program. It's fine. So a few of my pants don't fit right now because I've been putting ON muscle. Yes, I'm frustrated, but I can't let that get in my way. Make some changes? Done. In process. This week, new challenge! NO SALT SHAKER! I can do it. I will be interested to see if I look a little "dehydrated". As always, I'm drinking tons of water with a lemon/lime/orange slice combo. (DELICIOUS!) I did recently buy a sea salt grinder. And it is true, it has more flavor, and you use less of it, which is good. My goal is to completely eliminate the salt shaker.

Anyway, about Cancun. I love going on trips, because 2 weeks before, I have no cheat days, eating clean, working out like a psycho. Unfortunately, when I go on vacation, I don't count calories. I live life. So, my hard work will dissipate when I come back and I start all over again. This time, I have more muscle, I'm burning more calories. That's GOT to benefit me a little bit!
