Month 1: Diet Reboot

The last six months of trying to diet has been a total failure. Today I will try to reboot my diet. This time I will be adding more excercise, which I lacked when I started my diet almost a year ago.

So far I've gained 37lbs of the 87lbs I lost. I MUST stop the back sliding and get back on track to weight loss. :(

Month 8: Reboot

After being discouraged by a couple months of a lack of weight loss I kinda went off my diet and gained back some weight. I got as low as 272.75 but kept bouncing while being on my diet to now being back at 282. I'm refocusing on my diet, cut caffeine out, once again and started doing more exercising. Next week my wife and I will start a detoxing, then the week after that we start Phase 1 of South Beach again. I also found out that my Graves Disease is getting worse so I have about a year to get the rest of the weight off before I have to start treatment for it. SO, here I go again...

Progress: 7 Months

My weight was all over the place this month. I got down to 272.5 a week before the end of the month but 7lbs this week. I had a large sandwich Wed, but it wasn't that much over my normal, Friday I was a little over and last night I totally blew it but overall I don't see how all of that equals 7lbs. I'm hoping it's water weight. :( Pretty much January was a no loss month which puts my goal out to October is I stay on track from now until my goal.

Progress: Month 6 Week 2 (1/2)

It's been hard getting back on my diet after a month and a half of random screwups. I lost 3lbs only to gain half of it back. I have two more weeks to loose 7.5lbs if I'm to stay on target. I'm not sure if I'll make it but I have decided to drop my calories from 1,700 to 1,500 in the hopes of kick starting my weight loss. I'm also cutting caffiene out again. I'd slowly started drinking it again in December and it's caused me issues, and might have contributed to me slowing down in weight loss. Fingers crossed that I make my goal this month...

Progress: Six Months

On New Years Eve I made (and broke) my goal of 280lbs by end of year. I weighed in at 279.5 BUT, after eating at a New Year Party I put on 6lbs over night! I know it's mostly water weight and other stuff but it really started off the year with a fizzle.

I weighed in this morning and I've lost most of the extra weight. I'm only a pound over now so hopefully by tomorrow I can start off my work week at my end of the year weight. But 80lbs in six months is pretty good. :)

My end of month goal is 270. My next reward weight is 250 so by luck I might be there around my wedding anniversary. I just need to be sure to get back on track and stop eating the crap I have throughout the holidays.

Progress: Month 5, Week 4 (Update)

Wow, what a Christmas Present, I not only made my end of year goal, I beat it! My goal was 280 and I weighed in at 279! Depending how it goes, I might make it to 275 by the end of year. :D

UPDATE!!!

CRAP! I discovered that I didn't lose 4.5lbs to make my end of the
year goal. One of the feet fell off my Wii Fit board which gave me an
inacurate weight. After putting the food back on I've found I'm the
same as I was going into the Christmas Holiday. On one hand, I'm glad
I didn't gain any weight, but on the other hand, I'm a little sad. I
now have 3 days, plus what's left of today to lose 3.5lbs to make my
goal. I'm not sure if it can be done. :(

Awesome! I lost the extra holiday weight plus 2lbs! I'm now 5lbs from my end of the year goal. I might actually make it into the 270s by end of year after all...though I have two Christmas Parties, Christmas Dinner and New Years Eve to contend with... :\

Progress: Month 4, Week 4

Two more days in the month and I've gained weight. I blew my diet yesterday so I was prepared for some gain but not three pounds. I'm sure part of it is water weight. After this week I have to cut caffiene out of my diet again. I think it's helped with the weight gain. So has eating more carbs.

Hopefully I can get the extra weight off before two work Christmas parties and Christmas. I'd like to be down to 280lbs by the end of the year.

Greaves Disease

I saw my doctor on Monday and he got the results back on my blood work. Turns out I have Greaves Disease. It's treatable but we're holding off treatment until I lose my desire weight. My doctor says that the disease is what's helping me lose weight so fast. I have some of the other symptoms, one of which got a little worse last weekend, racing heart rate. I'm taking a beta blocker for that, everything else will be monitored until I start treatment. My goal was 200 but I might wait for treatment until I get down to 185-190. So that puts what I need to loss at between 87-102lbs.

So far I'm doing well for Thanksgiving as long as I don't eat anything else...

Progress: Month 4, Week 3

I knew it would happen, I blew my diet yesterday. They had a birthday cake for me and another guy yesterday which I wasn't going to have any until I was told that the office manager tried to get a cake I could eat (still bad even if it was a frozen yogurt cake). I also decided to have Chinese (a little earlier than my 280 goal), so I ended up gaining two pounds. I'm sure some of it is food and water weight. I think Thanksgiving and Christmas will be easier since I will be planning out the meals ahead of time. My doctor's app. is Monday and I'm still a half a pound below my doctor's end of year goal so I'm still happy. Just would like to be in the 270s by end of year.
