After trucking along for so long doing good, I have finally slowed......
It started several weeks ago when I noticed my big toe was hurting while I was running on the treadmill. I ignored it and kept going, estatic that I got 5 miles in in 1 hour before I finally caved and looked a little closer at my toe. I think my sneakers have been too snug.....My big toe is deeply bruised on the nail and I think I am actually going to lose that nail.....so I figured I would stop running for a little bit and let it rest. It finally feels better and I plan on resuming running this week.
Well, as long as that was on hold, I figured this week might be a good week to throw off my metabolism too. No salads for the whole week!!! Without really planning, my "week off" turned into a maintanence week where I ate whatever I wanted (umm, pizza...) and stayed pretty close to my maintanence calorie level. So I'm happy I managed to take a little break without doing any damage. Of course the family wedding is now this month and I am 4lbs shy of my goal, so it wasn't the greatest timing either....
I also did my dress fitting too......I ordered the dress one size smaller then they recomended (because I was optimistic about weight loss) and they still had to take the dress in almost 3 inches on top where it's fitted....yeah!!!! It was a great feeling walking out of that dressing room with the dress just hanging. Then the seamstress just started pulling inches of the dress and pinning what needed to be taken in.....good feeling.
So, as I mentioned before, I have about 3 more weeks to get the last 4lbs off and my husband is 3lbs away from his goal at this point too. It might be close, but we will see. Hopefully being this close will give us both some motivation to go a little harder, a little longer and without thinking of dessert too much...LOL
Hope everyone is doing well. Happy to be back and excited to be back on track!
That must have been the most amazing feeling! Walking out of that dressing room having ordered the dress smaller than they suggested and having it hang on you like your mom's dress up clothes when you were a kid! WAY TO GO! I had the same thing happen to me with the toe bruise, I was too worried that if I took a break that I wouldn't get back on that darn elliptical, so I just put on new shoes and kept going. Not smart I know :oS Good for you for being able to take a break, enjoy the ride a little and come back feeling refreshed and ready to roll! I bet you'll look amazing for that wedding, just keep picturing yourself and those last few lbs won't stand a chance! |
Three weeks to lose four pounds can be done. I'm in the same boat, I want to lose four pounds before my wedding anniversary in mid-July. We'll have to cheer each other on. Kudos to the smaller dress size. My sister-in-law ordered her wedding dress two sizes smaller than she was and then literally starved herself to get into it. I'm so happy that you are doing it the healthy and sane way rather than crash dieting. Good luck!
