No Candy

Made it through yesterday without a single piece of candy! It's a miracle. That and I stuck athe whole remaining bag of mini Skittles in my boyfriend's truck.

Made It Through Halloween

I got through Halloween without pigging out on chocolate. I did have my share of Starburst and Skittles but that was on Halloween and nothing after that. I even left the candy dish my boss gave us at the office.

However, my weight is up to 114.8 but that was because I had fried potato pancakes the night before. It's okay. I'm packing fruits and carrot sticks for work today.

Still working out, working hard and looking forward to each new day. I've got lots to live for and I can't afford to get sick, tired or sad!

I'm A Chicken...

for Halloween this year! My homemade costume is near completion. I just have to work on my headpiece. If you can just picture me in white feathers and yellow tights that's my costume. I love, love, love the feathers. Now, if only I had skinny chicken legs....sigh.

Friday And I'm Off!

I decided to take the day off from the office today since my last paycheck was missing almost 7 hours and it was going towards the next paycheck. Even though it's my day off I've been busy. But, I got to do a lot of stuff before it's even 3pm.

I:

went to the gym

detailed my bf's truck

went grocery shopping

bought a gift for a friend

cooked dinner

dug up the backyard to prepare it for new grass seed

did laundry

washed the kitchen windows

washed the kitchen floor

I'm happy, because I feel productive. And I'm happy because this morning I woke up and was at 112.6. All this extra work is helping me stay this way today.

Best of all, I'm not craving chocolate or cookies and it's TTOM! It's hard for me to imagine staying away from this stuff for over a month. However, I feel so much better, skin looks better and I don't feel so grumpy.

Staying Out of the Cookie Jar

I've managed to stay away from the packages of cookies and chocolates in my house. Evidence is the box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and two packs of Oreos in the pantry. I will have a slice of cake at a birthday party or maybe a few cookies during the weekend but I've managed to control it.

Overall, I've been able to sleep better, crave healthier foods like apples or bananas and nuts. My skin seems to look better. I'm not so irritable. Weight maintenance is so much easier.

I can't attribute that all to the decrease in sweets but I'd like to think there's some kind of positive outcome. I feel a lot better because this was something I wanted to control for a long time. Fortunately, my boyfriend is on board with all this and we've been buying more fruits and nuts.

I'm feeling good.

This Was A Good Month...

because:

I managed to not eat cookies or chocolate late at night while watching the t.v.

I managed to maintain my weight even though I did have a slice of birthday cake at a party

I still got my workouts in even though sometimes I'm dead tired

and I'm feelin' good!

Stuffing My Face at the Dozynki

I'd been eating really well since the start of this month. So, I thought I'd take a minor break from all that goodness. Yesterday after work I went to the annual Polish Festival at the local Polish church. I was so hungry and throughout the night I had potato pancakes, a huge jelly donut, cabbage rolls, and pierogis. My tummy is happy but I plan to take lots of fruits to work with me today and go back to my reduced sugar plan.

I have managed to not crave chocolate even though it's TTOM. I haven't even touched any cookies. Imagine that! Just cutting back on the sweets has been making maintenance sooo much easier. I even saw 111 this past week.

Doing The Unthinkable

There were cookies at work. These were like those delicious Pepperidge farm type cookies. And if anyone knows me I'm a big sucker for cookies, candy, and anything bad and sweet for your teeth and thighs. Well, I reached for them to sneak a few into my pocket, thought about it, and then walked away. That is a huge moment for me. Huge.

Cutting Out the Candy and Cookies

So, I've been noticing some cellulitis becoming more obvious on the front of my thighs. I'm like thinking, oh no, girl, nu-uh this cannot be. I've been working out 3 to 4 days a week instead of 5. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

I read up about cellulite and what I can do to prevent more of it from coming on. Well, of course exercise helps a lot which means I have to step it up. And...there's a lot of talk about the high fat, high carb diet contributing to cellulite. So, of course I have to rethink my love for high carb, high fat candy, cookie, and junk food.

I have managed for the last 3 days to avoid the chocolate and the Oreos. I have not been able to avoid sugar in my coffee but have cut back to two teaspoons of it instead of (gulp) my regular 4 on top of my flavored creamer.

I'm taking baby steps. There's been a whole Snicker's bar in my fridge that still resides there untouched. And, we managed to avoid buying those huge bags of chocolate at Sam's Club. I'm getting my sugar fix from fruits.

Let's just say I stay on this wagon for a while.

The Last Few Days

Thursday I celebrated my son's 18th birthday by taking him and my parents, sisters, aunt, uncle and younger son to dinner at Claim Jumper's. It was a nice dinner. I hadn't eaten all day which I know was bad but somehow being so nervous about the impending bill made me lose my appetite. I had an appetizer of two fish tacos, water and a couple of onion rings. Luckily, the bill was okay.

The next day, had a separate celebration for my son just for him and the buddies. Didn't expect so many of his buddies and my other son's buddies to stop by. We ran out of food! My only indulgence was sushi, deviled eggs and two slices of mocha cake which was heavenly.

Saturday, I worked in the yard before it got too hot and chopped down some trees that were growing into my neighbor's yard. That burned quite a bit of calories.

Today, going to a bowling party for my cousin's wife. Looking forward to some more birthday cake.

So far, weight maintenance has been steady. Still fluctuates to 114.6 or 114.8 but that's fine with me. I'm almost 39 I guess things could be way worse.
