Sick again?!?

I'm sick again! I was sick with the flu about a month ago and I feel like it may be attacking me again. I have a SORE throat... not mildly sore but extremely swollen. I'm going to buy some tea and suck that down for a couple of days. I'm off work today but since I'm sick I can't enjoy it. :(

I have to go back to logging my foods into CC again. I stopped doing this for a LONG time, and after realizing that I can't keep myself accountable without it, I'm going back to doing it for a while. Hopefully I can ween myself off of doing this as it's somewhat inconvenient, and it causes me to plan out what I'm going to eat for the day, which keeps my menus boring.

I guess I have to take another break from marathon training since I'm sick. That's just great. :(

WTF Scale?

My scale is acting up! I'm beginning to think it's incorrectly calibrated. I can weigh 3-4 times in a row and it shows different weights every time. I've had it for about 3 years so it's probably time to invest in a new one. It's aggravating me because I don't know what my real weight is right now! UGH!

I'm officially done with this semester! YES! Time to live it up until Jan. 20. That, and work a ton. I'm trying to save $1000 more before the end of the year, which should be pretty easy, but it's for surgery so I can't really spend a lot of money on Christmas presents. I feel bad, but I've been wanting this surgery for a long time, and I want to do something for me!

Anyway, glad it's the weekend even though I work every weekend anyway. I'm off to buy a scale now!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was fun, and I ate A LOT. Surprisingly enough, I weighed myself this morning and I basically maintained. My current weight is 121.0. I'm hoping to be 110 by the time my marathon rolls around, and that's about eleven weeks away. I don't care if I'm higher than that but it would be nice to be that small again!

I'm glad to be home to my little family again! I missed my fiance and my puppy lots. Schools just about out... I have one more paper to write today and tomorrow and as soon as that's turned in, I'm done! I'm so excited. Time to focus in on fitness and get back in amazing shape.

I've started reading "Weight Training for Dummies" and it's full of knowledge. As soon as I'm finished with my marathon, I'm going to start putting on some muscle weight. I want to be extra fit by the time summer rolls around, especially since we're going to Florida on vacation... which equals lots of beach/bikini time.

As of tomorrow... no more blonde hair! I'm very excited about this. It's time to warm my color up for the winter. It's getting cold here! It's about 45 degrees right now which is coat weather for us Texans.

Behind...

Haven't been here in a while! So, I had the perfect 16 week marathon training schedule all set up... and then... I got sick! So I missed my entire second week of training. I started back up again this week, but it's hard for me to go all out since I haven't been able to do anything for a week. Even running 4 miles is tough. So hopefully I can get going again after next week.

I'm going to Odessa, TX (which is "home") for Thanksgiving this year. I try to go back for at least one major holiday a year. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving dinner... I always daydream about it for about a month beforehand. My grandma and aunts cook everything delicious and I always pig out... and I fully intend on doing so!

We got a dog! She is a pit bull mix and her name is Harlow. I did want to get an older dog, but she is 9 months old. Old enough, because she's pretty close to being fully trained with some things and she's pretty well behaved. I haven't been able to take her running with me because she's not so good on a leash yet, but we're working on it. Hopefully she can start training with me soon.

I'm a little up on my weight. This morning I was 122.0. Ideal = 110-115. I weighed 118 before I got sick, then I ate lots of soup and drank a shit ton of juice, so I'm guessing that's why I gained. Got back on track yesterday. I need to make up for the binge-fest I'm gonna have next week while I have the chance!

Peace!

Training

Training for the marathon is going great so far. Nothing too serious... I've been doing my usual spin classes and just running a few miles at a time. I just feel so great after running! I could get used to this again.

I'm hoping to get a dog soon. Not a puppy, because I don't have the time to train one, but I've been looking on craigslist for an older dog - 2 or 3 years old - that still has plenty of energy and years left to spend with Ian and me. I want a dog that I can take to Town Lake and Zilker and take to the lake in the summer and play with! And someone to keep me company when I'm alone.

Nothing too exciting going on... I'm just feeling great about this marathon.

Austin Marathon

I have been wanting to do a marathon for a long time now, and now that I'm having somewhat of a break from school, I think it's finally a good time to begin training for the 2010 Austin Marathon!

The marathon is February 14, so that gives me about 5.5 months to work my way up to 26.2. I'm quite a seasoned runner, so 24 weeks or so will give me plenty of time to train and train properly! I plan to start on Monday, and I have a running/rest schedule all mapped out for myself.

I am ready to do this! For my health, for my own personal satisfaction, and last but not least, for my weight loss! I plan to use the CC journal to document my training to an extent for my own records.

Wish me luck!
