Entry Day 21
Sep 21 2009 14:55

I'm on day 21 of my lifestyle change.  Counting calories has made me want to improve in other aspects of my life.  Like being organized and reading and learning more...I FLOSS NOW!!Laughing

I will admit I have slipped up a few times in the past 21 days.  1 day I had a slice of pizza and a cinnamon treat and then left over steak and fried foods from a restaurant.

Another time I ate 4 taco's from taco bell...I did get them fresca stlye so there was no cheese or sourcream but they still clocked in at 190 calories a piece.

Another time my sister brought a pizza home and I had a piece and the other day I had some left over chinese.

Wow...it's good to admit when I messed up.  I still logged all my calories from those times that I messed up.  I would always put them in and cringe as I would scroll down to (see the damage)...Luckily only one of these ended in a day at 3000 calories....  This is my calorie count for the 21 days so far.

I went over my target 7 times.  But I was still eating less calories then I need to maintain for 6 of those days...so there was still a small deficit so I'm not going to beat myself up about it.

I still keep my portions under control.  My biggest problem seems to be late night eating.  Everytime I indulged in the fatty foods was late at night.  I need to read or do something to take my mind off food before I fall asleep.

I know I can beat this.

Hi Heather! You seem to be aiming for around 1100 calories, which is a tiny amount of food. No wonder you're tempted by high-fat goodies late in the day! I think you'd lose weight better if you ate a bit more and tried to be consistent. Also, spread things out. Have a substantial breakfast and save some calories for after supper.

The first step is aiming for maybe 200 more calories.

By the way I think it's awesome that you log your "mistakes" - things like pizza. I never do!

i'm sure eating that stuff didn't do any harm.  as long as you're eating good foods, too.  like fresh fruits & veges...  :D

it looks like you're doing great!  organizing, reading, learning, mixing up the daily calories, getting mostly A's!  eating foods you love!  (that prevents a binge!)

maybe you can plan on having something special before bed, like if you've done good that day...  a reward.  ;)  i always had dark chocolate.

either way, don't go to bed hungry.  it's not good for your metabolism.  just eat a little.  maybe a banana?  i dunno...  something you really like!

I typically aim for 14-1500 calories a day.  I find if eat dinner later I don't get too crazy at night.
