So, I'm going to try and aim for being "lightly active" in hopes that I will stick better to a diet that allows me to eat more... because I like food, and the unhealthy relationship with it is not going to change overnight.
And, thoughts as to how this site could be more useful (I won't complain, because this is a fantastic and FREE service that has helped me to lose 22 lbs thus far):
1. When inputting foods, we should be able to see the exact calorie count as we edit the number, rather than having to submit to find out just how many calories this site is claiming. As a for-instance. Say I ate an obscure brand of potato chips. The box said that it had *shrug* 300 calories in it, and I threw the bag away whilst not on the computer... because who walks around with old 'tater chip bags, anyway? So, I get home, and I go to this site to add up calories, and I like having an idea of how healthy my meals are. I find a is similar-ish brand of potato chips on this site (because the chips I used are nowhere to be found), and I input the serving size I actually ate. But, YIKES, the calorie count for this "similar" chip is completely different.
Sooo annoying, because then I have to go back and guesstimate what a similar serving size would be.
(this is also annoying when the "fun pack" version of some candies is not listed as an option for a serving size)
Wow, that was wordy and not helpful. Whevs.
2. Groups should be set up a bit differently. Or at least, made more obvious. It's irritating that I never know when a group I'm in has been updated.
3. your calorie intake goals for the day should change based on
a. how best to reach your goal (realistically)
b. how many calories you've logged on the burnmeter...
4. I'm going to actually do some work now, but I'm sure I'll think of something else.
