Entry Hoping vs. Knowing

What is the difference?

When I go to class tonight I am going to be hoping for a loss.  I had a 1+ gain last week but didn't stress about it.  But this week I will be if I don't get a loss.  I am hoping for a big number. But hoping is just like trying to catch the air!  It is impossible to do and it is really only a wish.

I know I will have a loss.  I just don't know what that loss will be but it has to be a loss because I have broken through my plateau of October by the way the scale reads in the morning, however the past 3 mornings have stayed the same.  Still lower than before but it just proves my point to myself that I have to be more diligent about calories in and I have to drink more water and start exercising again.  My foot feels better now and I really don't have any excuse.  So what if I get home at 8:30 or 9:00 each night, I still need to put in at least 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I know what I have to do, it is tangible and I just have to make myself do it no matter what else has happened.  I know that I can do it, because I did it over the worst weekend in the world for me - Halloween.  All that candy everywhere and I have only had a couple of mini chocolate candies.  Last year I would have 2 pounds by the end of the month.  I know I can do this.

I'm very proud of you and I hope for you that you've lost weight. Continue to stay motivated and try not to focus on the numbers because we both know that they sometimes come to a standstill, but rather on how you're feeling each day and how you look to yourself. Good luck!!

Thank you very much.  I am very happy to report that I "officially" lost 3.5 pounds for class.  I was very happy and this morning I hit the 40 pound lost mark.  I am very excited.  Only 1.8 to my next mini goal of 180 and 5.6 to my half way point.   It is going to be a good month. Laughing
