Entry Happy to see a loss & got to quilt
Nov 11 2009 07:49

Back down to 181.8 (my 40 pound loss) because I stuck pretty well to my meal plan yesterday and I am going to do that again today.  I did really well all day during work but when I got home I started to snack (all bad) and kind of fell off my path but I managed to stop myself before I got too far and distracted myself by doing a little sewing.  I kept my hands busy and got a good start on M's quilt.  As I was working on it, I was thinking about the other tops I have done or started and realized that A has 2 tops, M has 2 tops & 1 quilt, N has 0 and S has 0.  I don't know why I have not made any for N or S but I guess I need to get one started for them.  I also need to start practicing my machine quilting and get the tops done.  It makes no sense to put in all the time, effort and money into a quilt top & not be able to use it.  I have so many tops done even beyond the ones for the kids that it is really sad.  I just need to do it and get over my fear of messing up the quilting and just do it.  My family will still love them and if they aren't perfect it's OK they will never know if it isn't perfect.  I just need a little bit of confidence in my skills and that will only come with practice and time.  Maybe I will make a couple of really easy and quick baby quilts to practice my machine quilting before I tackle a huge bed quilt.  I can always give the baby quilts away as gifts as I have 2 nieces that are having babies in the next few months.

Great Job! :)  It feels so good when the scale will cooperate.  Quilting does sound like a great way to keep your hands busy.  I may have to think of something because I find myself thinking about food anytime I am not busy.

I do the same thing and usually eat out of boredom so it is easy to get lost in a project and loose track of time so it help me with my weight loss plan.
