So. I have been doing AWESOME on my diet. I have went from a size 24 to a 16 & a weight of 270 pounds to 197 pounds. However I see that all slipping away and FAST unless I get my addiction under control.
I have recently discovered that I crave Pumpkin ANYTHING. The flavor Pumpkin Pie in, on or around ANYTHING. I started out by making the pumpkin pie recipe & pumpkin fluff that CC posted. However this was not satisfying to me at all. I then discovered that most delicious thing in the world. A PUMPKIN PIE BLIZZARD.
I however can not stop eating them!! Since discovering them last week I've already consumed two & a third about 2 minutes ago! I get the small blizzard however it's still 500 calories! I am actually going over my calories some days by 500 just to have my pumpkin fixation!
I don't know what to do. This is serious & I'm not kidding! My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and I am actually due for my period either yesterday or tomorrow. I have been having such strong pumpkin pie cravings that it's making me wonder if I'm not pregnant? However I have been having all signs that my period is coming.
I just don't know what to do to get myself back on track & to start eating healthier again. I do great all through the day while I'm at work with logging my food and eating healthy. But I think about pumpkin pie ALL DAY LONG. And when I get home it's almost too overwhelming!
I have a rough time getting over my cravings from time to time. I'm sorry to say that the only thing that gets me past them is sheer determination. I might let myself indulge for about 2 weeks and see the scales go up a bit and then suddenly I just put my foot down and said "NO MORE!!" I refuse to go near the desired food or have it in the house and tell myself that I can have some on treat night if, and ONLY if, I am perfectly good all week (1500 cals and 2 hours of exercise EVERY DAY). 9 times out of 10 I didn't want the treat come treat day...I'd gotten past it. Only you can get past this craving. |
The nice thing about kicking a craving of something you're not making is that you just have to decide to not drive into the Dairy Queen. If you can sideline that craving long enough to get past DQ you'll make it all the way past the craving. Then get home and have the lower calorie at home pumpkin something. Have a slice of pumpkin gingerbread (recipe: http://www.hodgsonmill.com/quick-pumpkin-gingerbread/ ) or have something completely different and kick the pumpkin taste right out of your system! You have lost 73 pounds!!! You haven't gotten this far by giving up and I know you can beat this craving and keep going! |
Try 100 calorie/ serving Pumpkin slow churned Ice Cream by Edy's. It taste just like pumpkin pie but not all the calories of one. My Husband actually came in with a pumkin pie last night so I got out my ice cream and never missed anything except about 300 calories ; ) |
