I did a killer push up routine. You use a medicine ball and put your feet on a balance ball. You must maintain your balance while doing a push up with one hand on the medicine ball. You then roll the medicine ball from you left hand to right hand switching sides each time you do a push up. I also used a raised stationary bar, from the squat rack to hold my feet. I am using body weight to do the sets. I take 30 to 45 seconds rest between sets. I do 9 sets of 10 or until exhausted. I am also stretching and doing core exercises like the plank. I hold it for about 2 minutes to help strengthen mid section. Slowly but surely I am making progress.
My food is ok, but I am not going on the scale. I am using the feel method. Do my clothes fit better, do I look better. I am not back in a pair of 36 jeans down from 38s. Progress is slow but steady. I am still avoiding alcohol except for holiday or parties. I had a few on the 4th of July, but not too much. All for now

I have spent two days caring for my nephew who has Ausbergers syndrome a form of autism. He is a fine young man, but has tremendous issues to deal with. His parents are finally accepting his situation and preparing to get help. the boy loves to spend time with me and my dogs, I happen to be the good uncle and my older brother is the "i don't like him" uncle. We went to a park at the ocean and walked the dogs, he loved the dog park, fireworks.
We had about 30 people over for a bbq. We ran out of propane, (great planning of my part) so I pre cooked all the hambergers and hot dogs and everyone was happy. My eating was off. I am nervous around lots of people and having my brother, sister in law and nephew here has been stressful. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but my brother and nephew are a lot of work. I don't know how my sister in law does it. I am back to no drinking, and eating well. I am looking more defined and need to get rid of some more gut but I am taking action.
Sheila, I hope you have had a great weekend and appreciate your notes. God Bless

I have not lost weight, but I have gained about 4 pounds of muscle. My arms and chest are showing signs of the workouts and the pounding I have been giving my body. I have not drank alcohol deliberately to see if it would help me drop weight, without it I look more cut. Anyway have a great 4th of July.

Yesterday was a nice day. I missed my foster son, but my 3 boys and wife took me out to a movie, the Angels and Demon film. I liked the book better, but the film was pretty good. We ate at an Italian place ins San Francisco, food was good. I ate well, had 2 glasses of wine. This was negotiated by my wife as to how far I would go off course. I did fine, back at the gym today, burned another 868 calories. Yesterday I lifted weights to make up for a session that was interupted by a young man that asked me for advice on deadlifting. His form sucked and with a little time I had him lifting 40 pounds past his perceived maximum. I am off to see a planning client and on the road for the next few days.
Cheers

I am having a hard time giving up that evening cocktail. While the calories are burned away at the gym, I am not dropping any weight, so its time to cowboy up and go cold turkey and eat perfect, work out and do well. I am on the road for 3 days next week and that is not conducive to eating and exercising. It's a lot of travel.
Yesterday I was working out and had a shirt from a local brewery on and had a guy comment I looked like his step dad, real buff guy except for that beer gut. I don't drink beer! So, it's time to listen to all the bullshit and get my act together. I go on a fairly wild vacation at the end of July where there is a lot of partying. I want to look healthy and not fat when I go, so I have no choice but to commit. I am going to work out this morning and again at 2pm to help jump start my program.

I am using a new i phone program to track my weight loss. I have had the toughest year of my life. My business development company has been on hold for 2 years due to the recession and banking crisis. I am thankful that I remained a financial planner and continued to work cases, I have been in a flat our war to keep what I have. I feel like I turned a corner here financially speaking. Other bad stuff, My foster son, who I adopted when I was 21 took his own life in March of this year. It sent me back eating and drinking all the wrong stuff. I am now going to focus on my diet and exercise, with hopes of going from 210 to185. To my friends in the forum, I am sorry for my hit and miss behavior here. I simply work too much and forget to say how important you all are to me. Forgive me.
Today I am in Maine, it is rainy and quiet, the ocean is awesome, my youngest boy is hanging with his Mom and Grandparents and loving life. He is a great kid. he's 6'3" and only 15 years old. Yikes. All for now.

Hi guys, I have been gone for a while. I added a program to my i phone which works like cc. It is a program called loose it. You input all your data on what you eat, and they type of work out you do and it keeps a log. Being on the iphone makes this system very usable. I have managed to work out extra on any days I over ate or drank. This has helped me drop a few pounds. It is also why I haven't been recording my weight and using cc. I will make an effort to say hi to my friends here at cc. I am sorry for all these batches of silence, but my work life has been in a panic to keep things a float. Tough financial times suck, so we are selling and pushing for new finaancial planning cases. At the end of the day. things always work themselves out and I end up blessed by the man (or woman) upstairs. Cheers

I have had a long hiatus working away in WA. My partners put up millions and the banks freeze the deal. It sucks so were back hustling money and working my planning business. My weight is up, muscle is down, so I am trying to reballance my time in the gym and to re commit my self, to eat right and not to drink during the week days. I am happy to be back on line and wish all my cc friends and associates the best.

The water program. Yesterday was hot here on the coast, outside of San Francisco. Today is equally as beautiful, I am blessed to live in such a beautiful place. I drank a gallon of water and am back up 3 pounds. I am holding due to salt. I age a new kosher semi sour pickle for Trader Joes, it's good but salty. The water part of this diet will enable me by the end of a week to drop a few pounds. My lack of work out activity is tuff. I am off to physical therapy this morning, have a massage scheduled for 2pm and may throw a cardio routine. No work today at all. Its just not on my agenda. Began researching a new way to train. I am going to hire a body building coach. Someone that has a completely different approach to weights than I had as a powerlifter. Yesterday I talked to a chiropractor/trainer who wants me to do low weights but each set will be 15 reps. He is convinced he can help me get my shape back quickly if I train. We will work an ankle recovery program too. Have a great day! Cheers M
