Entry Ready to call it quits

Well, not really. But I'm very disappointed and frustrated. My weight has been going back and forth between 266 and 264 for some time and the nurse/doctor/whatever is positive that this is a true plateau and...well, it's getting to be a bit depressing. I've been working super hard with the personal trainer as well as watching what I eat, and it's gotten worse and worse. It's one of those "why bother" moments.  God, it just sucks. :/

And, when I met with the nutritionist, the very foods that helped me from not calling it a "diet" are the foods that she's suggesting I get rid of (low fat ice cream, take out once in awhile, etc.) Now it's like, "I can't even eat the food I enjoy anymore and not lose weight?"

For months and months, I was losing fine. Since last April, 85 pounds gone, and now it just won't move and it's giving me a headache.

I guess it's good buy normalcy, hello rabbit diet.

Nooo! Don't get depressed about it! I am so proud of you already. I swear I think the plateau thing is like at least 50% mental. When I stopped caring as much and put away the scale, it started to move again.

I am proud of you for getting a trainer...for doing this the right way.

Don't give up too early, or else you will never know how great you could have looked and felt!

Hang in there Smile

That's what the nurse said. ;.; Ah, it's just so annoying to work and work, and for your body to just not show anything. Just up and down, up and down, it's enough to make your head spin.

((Lol! I know your real name! ))

What Taryn said!!! Hang in there... as long as you aren't gaining, you're succeeding! You're down 85 and STAYING down! ^5!

Your body may be doing some internal adjusting, it may be converting stuff but not releasing it yet...

((HUGS)) I know plateaus suck hard. I also know how hard you've worked for this and how frustrating it must be to stall. (yes, I read your posts and journals ;)  )

(my amateur opinion ahead:) I wouldn't think the rabbit diet would switch you up. I think it may shake you out of it faster if you were to give your body a few calories closer to maintenance (while still maintaining a deficit; just a smaller one). My body did not like anything more than a 400 calorie deficit. (but at the same time I realize I am not your nutritionist and I'm not sure what her rationale is, it just sounds like the typical mindset of "this isnt working, lets try less food")

Anyway, you're doing great and I hope this plateau ends for you ASAP!!!

first of all GRATS on the 85 since April.. I am there too since April and it feels great.. not sure if this will help but when I stall/plateau  I zig zag for a few days..  lower calorie one day and closer to maint for the next.  there are some really good suggestions up above.. eating to maint for a few days can push you over the plateau ( I think my body get used to the same amount of calories but when I switch it up it really helps)

the other thing to remember is this will pass :)  as frustrating as it can be.. it will pass.  You have done OUTSTANDING!!!  this will pass :)

Don't get down on yourself!  You have done so well!  I have to agree, switching it up seems to be a key for me.  We are all pulling for you.

@crazydiamondchrysalis: I've heard of upping it. I'm considering having a test week this week and just eating closer to my deficient then I've been doing (nothing outrageous, I swear)

@nanny317: I'll defiantly try that. I'll try anything at this point (lol).

@hollymama: Thank you very much. <3
