Entry Offloading and Uploading

Ordinarily I don't like it when another task gets off loaded on to me at work as it usually means someone is being lazy and I will be given much hooey, hoodwinkery, and faux praise oozing with honeyed admiration for my intelligence and abilities. I don't think that they believe this one act farce is going to convince me that adding to my tasks is somehow a form of high praise; we all know it's just part of the show the powerful use to make themselves feel real good.

But today I had fun! Hah, take that! We are currently without interns. One of their tasks has always been taking care of the web site....quite poorly for the most part. When the last one left I had him leave me a page of directions in the Ways of the Mac as well as how to change text, upload documents, and etc on all the sites pages. I'm a pc person not a mac person, so it was all new. No time to actually have him teach me, there never is, so I really had to rely on his page of notes.

Webmastering (done to the crack of the whip and the cry of yeeehaww as I master my little web pages into the corral) is a lot of fun. Now I will never believe the interns that claim much difficulty and technical glitchery so that they cannot make changes in a reasonable length of time. When I get better at it I may see if I can fix up the site a bit. While the last guy left it better off than it has been in some time, it is still rather unwieldy and uninteresting. Only did one page today, but it is looking smart...well smarter anyway I am a newbie.

Ate well today, but had too much at dinner, so while I talked to my Mom on our daily call I paced about the house the entire time (approx 25 minutes). Actually felt the heart beating a little harder - probably from talking in addition to the walking. Feel better too. Glad I didn't just sit! Laughing Far better to offload a bit of the excess with exercise! Go me!

Well done on the extra walking! I had two long phone calls today with my parents but I was lounging around in bed while I chatted - your idea is much more efficient! Laughing

LOL!  Yep, it's really not as difficult as some techies would have us believe.  It's just step after step.  Good job!! And way to stick it to the Man!

Hmmm, I guess I should start pacing when I talk to my mom....she talks forever!  I could get a whole workout in!

I'm glad you enjoyed your off loaded task.  I get lots and lots of them....most are not enjoyable Undecided

Smile  I have missed your writing soooo much, Jan... its so funny and witty and uplfiting and codgy... thanks so much for the uplifitng greeting and details... I have just missed the everyday sharing with all of my cc friends... good work on the secret phone workout... Jane Fonda would be proud.. (though she would probably demand a little set of leg warmers and bouffent hair as well.)

Funny how a vacation can give perspecitve and levity to our more habituated responses.

LOL! I would very much like to stick The Man with something sort of stabby shaped!

Secret Phone Workout - either a great name for a best selling weight control book, or a children's novel....

another welcome back Bonnie!

Great job on multitasking - contemplating the stabby-shaped sticker surely has burned double calories?!!  Also, congrats on the loss - missed that earlier...
