So I had a situation today that tested my anger management to it's most!!
I am an officer in an organization on campus and one of the members gave me their phone number to contact them for an event that we were having. Apparently she remembers telling me not to text her but I either didn't hear her or I forgot. I texted her and she responded with an extremely rude and very angry text on my public wall on facebook. I deleted the post and responded with a private email apology. I can understand her frustration, especially if she did tell me (which I don't know if she did or not) not to text her. However, I don't think that it is ever o.k. to try to yell (caps/exclamation marks) or attempt to resolve conflict on a public forum. It was so insanely rude and it took everything I had not to respond in kind.
I intend to approach them about their innapropriate choice of forums for conflict resolution next time I see them. I should be a little more reasonable and less angry by then. I don't want to aggravate the situation, as I have to work with this particular individual for, potentially, quite a while. I do, however, want them to be aware that I will not stand by while they attempt to, essentially, lecture me like they would a child, in a public forum.
Growl!! I know this has nothing to do with weight loss, but I had to vent.
That's just flat out immature. It's a freaking text message. Big deal. Public forums are no place to nail into someone, espeically over something mundane. So sorry to hear you encountered a case of the irrationals. |
