Entry i'm baaack!
Apr 23 2009 10:10

so i've been married for a year and back from my 2nd honeymoon.

yes, i've gained some weight back... i think i was so determined to lose the weight by a certain date that i was doing whatever necessary to drop the pounds, including unhealthy fad diets. this makes weight gain much easier and quicker too.

so i'm doing this again, but the right way. since february 19th, i have been going to the gym on my lunch breaks 5 times a week and staying at least 30-45 minutes with my co-worker (it's so much easier to have a workout buddy). some days i will go to the gym twice a day. i switch up the workouts and tend to do a lot of classes (body pump, combat, attack, step and then the elliptical). i just started calorie counting again; april 15th i think... but before was just trying to make healthy eating choices.

i'm just now starting to drop weight (i think i was replacing fat with muscle the first month or so, and of course now i'm really watching what i eat). i went on a cruise april 4th-9th and completely gorged and didn't work out. now i'm recovering and back on track.

my starting weight this time is 145 - 10lbs less than the last time i started. working out and keeping a good schedule has really got me firming up and looking better in the mirror (i know when i was trying to lose for the wedding, the pounds were down but the mirror image wasn't as impressive). i want to get back to 120, but slowly so i don't do it in an unhealthy way... and so the weight doesn't creep back up when i take breaks.

when i get to where i want to be - i will maintain instead of letting it go out the window. i also want to keep up a healthy lifestyle and workout schedule.

here's to doing it the right way this time!

almost made it to my goal - but i guess i've got to be happy with where i'm at. with a week and two days till the wedding, i have other things to worry about (like that body wrap, tan and nails).

Entry freaking out
Mar 01 2008 12:36

i still have 15 more lbs to go from my goal, for my wedding in april. it's a month and a half away, 42 days to be precise and i'm still looking at myself in the mirror going "UGH." i can see the difference, but i'm literally do not know if it will be enough. i'm on a plateau; i have been for almost a month. the measurements are looking good, but the scale isn't budging. i really hope it's muscle. i'm becoming more stressed as the date is nearing and i'm sure that doesn't help much more. gah. money is worrying me too because we're trying to refinance the house. i wish lipo was affordable. dammit.

Entry callanetics and GI
Feb 23 2008 17:55

so today i ate some junk... but worth it. we went to schlotzskys after running around with the dogs, mmm. then i tried callanetics because it came in the other day. it's basically like slow controlled ballet movements. i already feel like jelly. apparently, after 10 hours (of 1 hr dvds), your muscles firm up. this is what motivated me to get the dvd: before and after photos

then i also came across the glycemic index. it's basically the type of diet diabetics should follow if they do not want to be insulin dependent. i'm thinking of giving it a go. we just need to go to the store tomorrow and load up on low sugar items. including trying to cut off eating food at a certain time during the day. anything for the last month and a half.

i'm going to post my pre diet and exercise photos and get on to posting between photos (what i'm at now), and then of course take some when i'm closer to my goal.

Entry perfect!
Feb 15 2008 18:14

i was able to manage my day so perfectly that i got over 1200 calories, but not more than 1212 (which is my goal intake from this website to meet my weight by april). all i needed was a fatty breakfast taco this morning! haha. however, i'm so tired today that i want to take a nap and then play ddr later. a 30 min nap should suffice while the man is playing guitar in the play room.

Entry VDay
Feb 14 2008 19:01

I cheat rarely. When there's sweets at work that's staring me in the eye, I usually pass. Today I knew I was going to eat whatever I wanted and have to pay for it when I got home by working extra hard. I ate almost 700 more calories than yesterday. What's in store for tonight is double DDR time. I'm starting to get blisters from the pads but I WILL master the workout section of that game. And I really love working out by playing it because I am determined to get damn good at it. It makes me sweat more than any aerobic workout class I could take at the gym.  I'm finding it really hard though to eat 1200 calories a day. When I'm at work, I'm so engulfed in the computer, I forget to eat. My desk is filled with TONS of healthy snacks, so there's no excuse for junk (except for today). But I have been dieting successfully since Jan 1st. I deserve a treat.
