I was very productive last night and I managed my time well. I ended up being able to watch a movie, work out, and get to sleep by 11. Not too bad.
I ran on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and in all I think I burned about 200 calories. It's a good start after being off the bandwagon for so damn long.
I feel much better about myself when I am able to work out.

Warning! This is a rant...![]()
Lately I feel like such a failure! I took up a babysitting job after work in which I sit 3 kids under the age of 10 for 3 hours each Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. I babysit them for 9 hours on Sunday. I also have a full time 9-5 day job as a receptionist. I have no time to workout anymore. I always try to fit in a little something on Tuesday evenings or Saturdays but by the time those days roll around I am too worn out to do anything but sit on my ass!
I have not had time to do anything for myself. No pedi's, no mani's, no tanning, no working out- no special time for just me!! I cannot just tell the parents that I cannot babysit anymore. I would be letting them down and would feel horrible. I also cannot cut back hours at my full time either. I am completely stuck! I have gained a few pounds back since I have not been able to work out and I am depressed about it! Ah!
Anyone have any ideas of how I can fit a workout (of some sort) into my tight schedule?

What are some alternatives? I really dislike Tofu.

With my 23rd birthday lurking around the corner I just wanted to share with everyone how great I feel. I worked out over the weekend and when I weighed in the scale showed 124lbs. I am ecstatic. I've been trying to watch what I eat and talking myself out of that extra scoops of ice cream or few more thin mint girl scout cookies (Mm and it's sooo hard!). I am doing it though! When I work out I go hard and actually try, before I just dilly dallied which didn't help.
A few weeks ago I downloaded www.Shape.com's "10-pound meltdown" but I have yet to follow through with it. Has anyone else tried it and gotten results? The meals on there seem complicated and I don't really want to go out and buy all that food if the whole thing doesn't work, ya know? I don't think I need to lose 10 pounds either so it is not the right diet plan for me.
Well just wanted to share some thoughts! :)

I just realized I have been on here for 6 months and I have yet to keep any amount of weight off. If I cannot do this simple task... what can I do?
I worked out last night for about 35 minutes on the stationary bike (my fav.), stretched then got on the treadmill for about 5 minutes. In all, I think I burned about...320 calories.
I am not sure how I am going to have a calorie deficit of 500, I am always hungry lately and giving up sugar has put me in a perpetually bad mood! UGH!!
Tomorrow is another day and I CAN do this, I hope.

GOOD MORNING! It's 23 degrees outside and feels about the same in my office, but I am in a good mood. I worked out last night for about 25 minutes on the elliptical while I waited for my pot roast to cook and burned about 100 or so calories. Not too bad.
Dinner was awesome and I ate at around 9 so I feel a bit guilty but what are ya gonna do..
Lent is going... mm.. well. I found some sugar free chocolate and I bought 3 packs (each containing about 5 pieces of chocolate) and the total was outrageous! Something like $15 for 15 pieces. CRAZY!
Anyway... gotta get to work.

Ughhh only the 17th day of Lent!? This is pretty hard to do and now that I know I am not even halfway through it makes it that much harder. :( I have had a few teaspoons of sugar, mostly in pre-made, packaged stuff. I try to avoid it however.
This weekend I went to Adam's Morgan and got entirely too drunk. I ended up eating a piece of pizza that was about the size of 4 pieces put together... I felt utterly disgusting after. I worked out on Saturday for about 25 minutes. So the weekend wasn't a TOTAL bust.
Oh and I am back down to 126, finally. :)

Didn't work out last night because it was Valentine's Day and I went out to eat with my boyfriend to a cute little restaurant in Fairfax. I had wayyy to much to eat today! For lunch he met me at my work and we went to the Silver Diner... MMmm! I got chicken tenders which were FRIED and French fries! Ahh..so good though.
I am definitely working out tonight.

Ugh! Today is rainy, icy and bitterly cold. Makes you want to not do ANYTHING!
Last night I worked out at my house, since it was nothing but a sheet of ice outside. I have that Slim In 6 video so I popped it in and worked up a sweat for about 40 minutes. I like the video but it is so tough to keep at it for longer than a few days, I get so sidetracked when I am at my house. There are a million other things to do..
I am not sure how many calories I burned which is another reason why I don't like working out at my house. Ahh well.

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
