Entry #23 I feel like a failure!
Oct 28 2008 12:46

Warning! This is a rant...Yell

Lately I feel like such a failure! I took up a babysitting job after work in which I sit 3 kids under the age of 10 for 3 hours each Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. I babysit them for 9 hours on Sunday. I also have a full time 9-5 day job as a receptionist. I have no time to workout anymore. I always try to fit in a little something on Tuesday evenings or Saturdays but by the time those days roll around I am too worn out to do anything but sit on my ass!

I have not had time to do anything for myself. No pedi's, no mani's, no tanning, no working out- no special time for just me!! I cannot just tell the parents that I cannot babysit anymore. I would be letting them down and would feel horrible. I also cannot cut back hours at my full time either. I am completely stuck! I have gained a few pounds back since I have not been able to work out and I am depressed about it! Ah!

Anyone have any ideas of how I can fit a workout (of some sort) into my tight schedule?

I feel your pain!  I work 3 jobs and am a full time student...but I make it to the gym 5-6 days a week...

If you can't make it to the gym...try Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm going to get it today!  I hear great things about it.  It's a challenging cardio and strengthening routine, and the workouts are only 20 mins long!

Also try doing active things with the kids, especially those LONG Sundays...take walks, do fun activities, play at the park.  That way they're staying active and you are too :)

Girl, Ok, now you got that out of your system. Don't be so hard on yourself. We all get caught up in the business of life from time to time...and you know what, it will happen again. Until then, here's my suggestion: why don't you create some sort of activities with the children that you babysit that will get you all to moving...whether it's going outside to run around and play or putting on some of their favorite songs and dancing around the house. You would be amazed at the calories that you burn. Yes, it may not be the sort of workout that you would generally do, but it could be one that gets you moving around and stirs up a little motivation...if nothing else you would have fun interacting with the kids and they will be ready for bed when you're done...Hey, maybe then you can stick in an exercise video/dvd and get your workout then Wink. Hope this helps. God bless.
