Entry Better Day
Nov 08 2009 19:13

Yesterday was better than Friday, for sure! I had a small breakfast at home, then I ended up going to the football game with friends for a little while. We went to Wendy's for lunch. I had to convince myself I didn't want the new Bacon Deluxe, which I did by telling myself it was not nourishing and not good for my body. I got a Mandarin Chicken Salad instead, which was pretty good. I actually like Wendy's salads better than McDonald's or Burger King. Then for dinner a couple of friends and I had Panera, I got A You Pick Two with a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich (yummy) and chicken noodle soup. They wanted to drink and I wanted to keep my calories under control. I had a shot of Jameson and a shot of SoCo but kept it there. We were at my friend's where we ate the cake, ice cream, and candy so I had to tell myself I didn't want it! I'm glad I managed to win my internal battle! I think I actually may have come in UNDER on my calories yesterday once I looked everything up today.

Today I had a super lazy day. The boyfriend is sick (he teaches elementary school, no surprise there) and I was starting to feel sick too. I got up and went food shopping this morning then put my pajamas right back on and watched Definitely, Maybe. It was super cute, and I would absolutely marry Ryan Reynolds. Then I took what I meant to be a quick nap, ended up being about an hour. I got up and looked over some material for a biochem quiz tomorrow (literally looked over, did NOT study), then watched Role Models and had some tea. I'll probably have a third cup of tea and watch TV in a bit.

I sat down yesterday and looked through my current and old food logs to find places I could fit in some more protein. I feel that will help me build some muscle and feel more satisfied. I'm trying to get on the "food for fitness" train. This is what I came up with:

On non-workout days (goal of 1400 calories):

Replacing breakfast cereal and banana with cottage cheese and frozen raspberries, replacing my orange with a milk protein isolate shake, replacing my regular yogurt with Greek yogurt, and replacing Peanut Butter Puffins cereal with cashews. This should add about 46g of protein and 11g of fat.

On workout days (goal of 1600 calories):

Replacing banana and orange with cottage cheese and frozen raspberries, replacing Peanut Butter Puffins with cashews, and replacing yogurt with Greek yogurt. This should add about 24g of protein and 10 g of fat. (I was already getting a lot of protein from peri-workout shakes on these days, so more is like a bonus!)

This will be my first foray into cottage cheese, I hope I like it! I'm also going to get up and get to the gym for HIIT on Tues/Thurs and either Sat or Sun to hopefully cut some fat. I may take some measurements tonight to start gauging progress that way. I think I'll try to get back down to 110lbs or so, then up my calories to maintenance and see how that goes with muscle building.

In other news, I sign up on Thursday for my last semester of undergraduate classes, SCARY! I only have one left to finish my major and my advisor convinced me to take a grad class that she and my favorite professor teach. It should be pretty cool, it's called Drug Design. I have the worst senioritis EVER, the end of this semester can't come soon enough!!

yum I love cottage cheese.  Fruit is obvi a good way to eat it.  I also eat it with canned pumpkin, cin and stevia... or mixed with peanut butter as a topping to a whole wheat english muffing... enjoy!

How come I’m not losing weight?
