Its' been a while since I last posted. For anyone who hasn't read my profile page...I woke up one day and stepped on the scale and weighed a whopping 180 lbs. That may not be a lot for some people but, for me it was the heaviest I'd ever been. I was used to being around 110 to 120. It was a wake up call.

I started trying to loose weight and kept getting frustrated. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't loose. I had always been able to before.

It occurred to me that things didn't work the way they used to. So I started looking and found Calorie counter. I had no idea what I was doing but, I started reading the site and just going by the suggested calorie intake.

After four months of trying other things, not hardly two weeks into the whole Calorie counting thing...I'd lost ten pounds. I nearly freaked when I stepped on the scale. Just ten pounds and I was determined it was possible.

I kept a strict daily count of my calories. I logged literally everything I ate. Keeping my calories down was hard. Logging, was hard as well. I ran to the computer if I just ate a spoonful of something...Believe it or not, I was shocked to find out what just a spoonful of peanut butter had in it.

I didn't say I've stop eating it. I just don't indulge. It's amazing that knowledge is so powerful. Just knowing that I can take that same spoonful of peanut butter and put it on celery or an apple and not suffer, kept me from eating or even wanting to eat two spoons full.

On the days that I over did it...I would fight to not to do it the next day. Or if I did. I kept count anyway. I noticed that I was starting to eat healthier so I didn't have to go hungry when my calorie money was spent. That's how I worked it. Calories = $ When my allowed calories were gone...I was broke. If I went over...That's right. I took it from the next days allowance.

I can't say it was a walk in the park. Or that I am done. I am still 36 pounds away from my goal... but! I've lost 40 pounds. I know it can be done. That was even with minimal exercise.

I'm getting ready to kick it back into high gear and start using that wonderful treadmill. It may take me a while but, I know I can get back in the hang of at least walking ten minutes to an hour a day.

My suggestions. Don't be embarrassed if ten minutes is all you can do. Do it. Keep doing it. When you are able...do more. Until then. Just do what you can, when you can.

AND LOG IN EVERY DAY! Even when you know you've gone over board. It's amazing as well what just logging in can do for you confidence.
