I went through the Thanksgiving feast and still managed to keep under 1700 calories for the day.
Now I am certain that I can do this, without feeling like I am depriving myself.
Very cool!

{{{hugs}}} i'm so glad you had a gr8 day! Making turkey with your son was happy making i'm sure :) Finding out we can make these changes and enjoy ourselves without feeling deprived is rather, er... liberating... don't you think? I'm surprised. I've been gnashing on changing my views about food all year and about the holidays especially for the last month or so... i never really thought i would come to truly enjoy my new approach. the trick now will be to remember and keep... not abandon in the days, months ahead. i think perhaps, we're really getting it this time ;) cheers! jules |
Thank you for the Christmas cheers, afterall, today is Christmas. =) It was not a dress... a night gown is pajamas!! Very very different... not that I don't wear dresses... with the whole pioneer girl thing going on and it is so much easier when using a public restroom when you got snow on your boots to not get your pants all wet when you drop them to use the facilities. =) Ok, that's most likely more information than you wanted to know! I love the attitude... YES!! it is totally possible to make healthy choices without being deprived! YEAH!!! WOO-HOO!!! Ok, yes I am a little happy... but you know, it is Christmas day. =) |
& did i mention ~ u have 1 lucky wife? was just thinking about most of the gr8 family men in my life... yanno... most of them cook and have their specialties... my dh does our seafood, turkeys, breakfast and all bbq's! he started on our honeymoon. i am soooo blessed ~ & for more reasons than food ;) now my gramps (96 this year) ~ he really knows what he likes and doesn't. grams came home 1 day to find him tossing her recipes that he didn't like. he never did that again ;) :::giggles::: he makes the best... in salads and culinary delights. and they spent years together in the kitchen enjoying life while they cooked with each other :) have a gr8 weekend... |
Good for you...I think it comes to a point when you realize that to accomplish a goal such as getting healthier/losing weight is so much more worth it than putting food in your mouth...that is what I learned in my case anyhow. :) |
