Armed with a truck-load of leftovers, we left my Mom's house on Saturday night.
I did okay through Thanksgiving and the aftermath, always eating less than my maintenance level of calories, but...
I stepped on the scale this morning and I am sitting at 162. I have gained 2 lbs!!! I try not to let it bug me, but it clearly did.
Since a gain of 2 lbs over a weekend is clearly impossible given what I have eaten, I would guess that it's due to water retention connected with a higher than my usual sodium intake.
I'll just keep drinking water and keep eating healthy and exercising and it all should normalize in a day or two.
Best regards,

Here's some information that helped me see past those up and downs on the scale. =) First, remember that 1 pint of water weights approximately 1 lb. Next, check out this link: http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/help.php?id=6 YES!!! Drink the water, eat healthy, exercise and it will all balance out. Be patient and don't fret. I know, easier said than done. But true! =) |
Sounds like a very rational plan to me!! Remember, dinners like that, even if within the calories, can have a lot of salt which could lead to temporary weight gain! If so, your plan to drink water should balance it all out. Hope it goes well. I ate 2 pieces of Ginger cake today, oops. Alice x |
water? methinks it's the 4 letter werd known as *salt* ;) you are doing gr8. if you don't overeat when it's up, it will come back down. i don't know about men, but for women, there are 2 definite times when weight spikes up from water weight retention related to homone cycles. if perhaps you track your weight for several mos, you may notice a pattern. try logging when you have extra salt, for whatever reason ~ a feast, a bowl of campbells chicken soup b/c u r fighting a cold... whatever. you will probably see an upswing within a day or 2 followed by a downswing 1 - 3 days later. wouldn't it be interesting to know your own pattern? now mind you. i'm not advocating that you ingest *extra* salt to determine your pattern, but i've been known to do such crazy things ;) cheers! glad u had a gr8 visit with mumsie :) the ladies in our family always sent leftovers home. i think it's how they maintained their *slender* ~ hehehe ~ only in the name of love! :::grins ear2ear::: |
