I did HIIT on Friday and I'm not sure what to think of it. I did 8 cycles of 30 seconds sprinting followed by 60-90 seconds of jogging. I was definitely really tired after, but even with the 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down that was a 20 minute workout. I don't care how awesome and amazing and fat-blasting HIIT is, there is just no physical way that could have the same effect as running for 90 minutes. I guess if I work it in like 2x/week I will still burn a lot of cals on the other days.
Also, I finally bought a stopwatch and timed myself on a paved trail. Ran a 6:56 minute mile, whats uuuuppp. I think I could get to 6:30 without too much trouble, especially if I do it on a track. 6 minutes might prove a bit harder, but I love a challenge!
Fitness = yes. Weight loss = not so much. Still totally stalled, and getting so discouraged. I kind of just don't want to diet anymore. It has made my eating patterns so weird I know I am self-sabotaging now. I will eat so well all day and then at like 10pm I eat like 7 pieces of bread. Awesome. As I am eating piece #5 or 6 I will stop and be like "hmmm why are you doing this?" and then I say "%&#$ it, I don't want to diet anymore" and keep eating.
I know all the CC regulars will say that I need to allow myself to eat stuff like bread and candy in moderation so that I don't binge on it, but honestly I can't keep it in the house or I eat it all immediately. Whenever I try to have it around so I can have like one piece of French bread w/olive oil as dessert, one piece turns into like half a loaf. Every single time! I don't understand how people can eat one square of chocolate every night, as so many people on this site claim to do. I would eat one... and then another... and then another... and then the bar of chocolate would be gone.
