All right, ethers of cyberspace, hear my cry of defiance. I will lose weight THE HEALTHY AND SMART WAY if it kills me. Which it won't. Being healthy, and smart, and all.
Anyway. I'm going to write this out all scientific-like. It helps me. This is how much weight I will lose per week if I stick to a friggin' plan.
Assume I am sedentary. At 5' 10" and 168 lbs, I need 1939 calories per day at rest to maintain my current weight.
Now, assume I consume 1500 calories per day as a diet regimen. To add to this, I work out five days per week with an average of 400 calories burned each time, resulting in a weekly burn of 2000 calories (an average of 286 per day).
This means that every day I am creating a caloric deficit of 1939 - 1500 = 439 from food intake and an additional 286 from exercise to create a total deficit of 725 calories per day.
This adds up to 5075 calories per week, or 1.4 lbs per week.
...So, scientifically, logically, if I can stick to the above plan, I can lose 1.4 lbs per week. Scientifically proven. And by the time I go home in six weeks, I can have lost 6 x 1.4 = 8.4 lbs
Okay. Let's do this. Let's lose 8.4 lbs by the time I return home. This is a managable goal. It is solid. It is tested by mathematics, pure science. I can succeed with a little self-will. All I need is control.
Crap.
